Maybe because Fallout is supposed to be an RPG, not an action game with as many RPG elements as Diablo? Anyways, awesome download <3 GoG.
Oh, wow, it's a special GOG version of it, even. Really nice bonus to throw in, thanks a lot for this.

Malorie: Oblivion is one of my most favourite games. How could 'Oblivion with guns' possibly be disappointing?
The Fallout franchise oozes with atmosphere and does a terrific job of representing ethical and moral choices in shades of grey.
Oblivion... not so much, at least in my opinion.
Mix the two, and depending on who's playing it, you'll probably get unsatisfactory results.

Paul_cz: Here is hoping he will get to make another great games, we will get to play them, and in the meantime, Bethesda won't mess our beloved Fallout up (or at least not too much).

danly: Early reviews coming in make it sound like it's a disappointing Oblivion + Guns

That's odd. All that I've been hearing is that even people who didn't like Oblivion like Fallout 3.

From what I hear, Fallout 3 is both a third and first person RPG, as opposed to Oblivion which was first person only with the option of going third to show off how pimped out your character was. Also, with V.A.T.S. there's no way it could be oblivion with guns, anyone who told you that is ignorant and probably lied about playing the game.
I still have my original copies of these and still planned on picking up the GOG versions later but this announcement made me purchase immediately.
Not only is this perfect promotional material for the content on GOG but for Fallout 3 as well.
I'd love to see more of this with some of the other classics - possibly in the form of concept art or other collectible developmental materials.
Actually, Chris Avellone didn't work on Fallout, only on Fallout 2. Anyway, the Fallout Bible is also viewable here.

Congratulations, you just called the game's executive producer ignorant and a liar. :D

Then he must be so. Because the V.A.T.S. system and the fact the game has been optimized for play in the third person, REALLY set it apart from Oblivion, and the fact that not only does it have guns, but it's in a post-nuclear setting, that really sets it apart too. To make such a bland generalization to say 'It's Oblivion with guns.' is ignorant of all the other features, and if I had been a developer under him, I'd be extremely offended because he would have just completely disregarded all of their work.
I could put guns in a PC port of Oblivion if I wanted, it's easy (compared to what Fallout 3 is).
Maybe someone can publish one screenshot from this bible? :) I'm very curious but i don't have cash on account for now ;)

:) Thanks!
Well, that's really nice. The three Fallouts were what I got right away, and it's great to get a new goodie for it, too. :)
Those are Vaultboy avatars, not PipBoy. You better fix it before someone angry notices :)
