I'm in the midst of a several-day-long anxiety attack (you know that intensely panicked feeling you get when you're, say, about to go out onstage? It's like having that that, but it doesn't go away for days on end. No, it's not fun), and I need something to take my mind off it. Does anyone have any suggestions for fun movies/shows that I could stream via Netflix? Preferably not something that's very emotionally taxing. Just something that's fun (action violence is fine).

It's actually surprisingly good. Basically, the Catholic Church in Mexico run the local drugs cartel. The "goods" are produced by nude nuns (I guess so the "goods" don't get contaminated). The story opens with one of the nuns stealing some of the "goods", which the local dealers don't like very much so they start shooting up all the nuns on the bus at the time.

The sole-surviving nun wants revenge.

Over-the-top violence, full frontal nudity and lesbian nuns. What more could you ask for? :)

If you want to laugh so hard that you're physically in pain I can recommend 30 Rock (and Parks and Recreation). 30 Rock is simply fun. No moral message (ala Scrubs), no "special episodes" only good laughter, with many stabs at pop culture. I watched 5 season back to back while I was bedridden with an ugly cold. Awesome, simply awesome. And Tina Fey was pretty cute in '06 when the show started.

Disclaimer: I had some pretty hefty fever during some of the episodes, so some enternainment could have been my fever delirium.

Troll 2.
I haven't used Netflix in a while, but I think you can stream some Mystery Science Theature 3000. MST3k is always good for a laugh, it is a show where they make fun of bad cheesy movies. My favorite episode is when they make fun of "The Final Sacrifice"

MST3K Season 1-5 Theme Song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DcUkKltAidM
Example of a skit (MST3K Pants Tribute): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpWOvK-mz7U

Enjoy :)

I had no idea this existed, guess I know what I'm watching tonight:)

I'll throw out Ip Man, Ip Man 2, Warrior's Way, Bunraku, District 13, District 13 Ultimatum, Dylan Dog: Dead of Night, Tucker and Dale vs. Evil, Harry Brown (really good Michael Caine film), Arahan, Pitch Black, Trollhunter, Lo, and Secret of Kells as all above average movies (kind of weighted towards the martial arts side of things, sorry).

For documentaries: Turtle: The Incredible Journey and Wolverine were both really good shows.

For below average but you might still like them, maybe try Insidious, Rammbock, We Are the Night, and Monsters. They were mostly unfortunate but weren't a complete waste of time.

EDIT: It's "Secret" of Kells, not "Spirit", sorry:)

Thanks all for the suggestions. I didn't end up watching a movie (played a crap ton of Binding of Isaac instead... and the fact that it doesn't disturb me emotionally is probably a bad sign), but now I've got plenty of ideas for later.

@Orcish I quite enjoyed Troll Hunter when I watched it a month or so ago, although I thought the ending was kinda lame.

@Thunderstone I LOOOOOVE MST3K

Should have went with Troll 2 instead. One of the most entertaining movies ever.
13 Assassins, The African Queen, Archer, Assault on Precinct 13 (original), The Aura, The Big Lebowski, The Boondock Saints, A Boy and His Dog, Cave of Forgotten Dreams, The Chaser, Contact, Delicatessen, Die Hard 1-3, Escape from New York, From Dusk Till Dawn, From Paris with Love, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, Hobo with a Shotgun, Home Movies, I Saw the Devil, Interview with the Vampire, Ip Man, Iron Man 2, Jet Li's Fearless, King of the Hill, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance and it's sequel Lady Vengeance, Law and Order Criminal Intent seasons 1-5 only, Let the Right One In, Lethal Weapon, Lone Hero (might be exactly what you're looking for), The Man from Earth, The Man from Nowhere, The Man Who Wasn't There, Mary and Max (another great choice), Memento, Mystery Science Theater 3000 (bunch of episodes), Ong-Bak: The Thai Warrior, Parks and Recreation, Pi, Quantum Leap, Red State, RoboCop, They Live, Timecrimes, True Grit (both), Tucker & Dale vs. Evil, Videodrome, The X Files.

If any of the above are dubbed or in the wrong aspect ratio, then I cancel my recommendation. Dubbed = fucking shitty :(

oh, I know. I've seen it.

Horrible HORRIBLE ending, though. Bad enough that it kinda ruined the fun for me.
