It was going to happen sooner or later, so I thought I'd post a list of games that I've tried on the acer aspire one (and consequently, probably most atom based netbooks), and how they performed. As it may be long, look under the cut.

Unreal Tournament one - Installed fine from gog installer. runs fine at natural resolution (1024*600), with all settings set to max.
Railroad Tycoon 3 - Runs okay with some settings turned down at natural resolution
Trainz 2004 - Runs fine at natural resolution with default settings
Europa Universalis 2 - Runs okay, but does not support natural resolution
Europa Universalis 3 - Installs but refuses to run
<b>Patrician 3</b> Installs and runs fine on high graphics settings, but not at natural resolution
<b>Sensible soccer</b> - Installs and runs, but with glitchy graphics to the point where it's unplayable
<b>Rfactor</b> - Just about playable on minimal settings, with some minor frame rate issues
Toca 2 touring cars - Runs perfectly at natural resolution with graphics set to high
Grand prix 4 - installs and runs okay with some graphics settings turned down
Rally Championship Xtreme - Installs, but crashes at runtime
Motocross Madness 2 - installs and runs without a problem
GTA Vice city - Surprisingly, installs and runs fine with only minor slowdown issues on default settings
Descent 1 and 2 - GOG versions install and run fine
Fly! 2 - runs okay, with minor slow-down issues
Just to note, I'm running all these games under tinyXP with only 512mb of ram. If you have any additions or corrections, let me know. I'll update the post. I'm planning on keeping this an ongoing thing for future reference.

Time-wasting post? A "netbook" is a PC, so it's all about specs not about the "format". That does not exist, in this case. Shouldn't you look a little more to system requirements instead of talking about "netbook games"?

sorry if this is seen as a waste of time. Although there are some factors unique to the netbook however, namely the screen resolution. Also I've had issues with support for the relatively obscure GPU.
If the general consensus is that this is time wasting, I'll delete the post. Sorry for being such a nuisance.

Whether this post is a time waster or not is, quite frankly, a matter of subjective opinion. I am quite sure someone will make good use of the information present here. Other netbook users will have an inkling of what to expect when trying to run GOG-flavored games.

hows the performance with win 7 compared to the default eee os (which i believe is XP??) ?

You may add Fallout and MAX 1&2 to your list. Both work just fine on my eeePC 1000H

Windows 7's performance is comparable to XP SP3. This YouTube video shows Windows 7 Ultimate on an Acer Aspire One (1.6 GHz Atom CPU, 1 GB RAM, 8 MB VRAM); it works smoothly even with all the fancy effects turned on. Due to technical improvements introduced from Vista onwards (such as RAM pooling and Superfetch), some games and applications will actually run smoother and/or faster on 7 than on XP on the same hardware. Once Windows 7 launches most or all new netbooks will ship with 7, not XP.
