Unfortunately i need to speak objectively and say this:
DE has horrible graphics. It takes time to get used to if you had never played it. If crappy graphics is not a problem then...

I personally believe DE is pinnacle of computer gaming, one of the best games ever released. Incredibly complex, packed with so many stuff that a current generation of games would require not only an expansion pack but a sequel just to match the game in terms of the content, great characters, some very amazing fights, incredible late-cyberpunk storyline makes DE a quite legend nowadays in PC gamer circles.
Damn. Now i want to play it again :(

Deus Ex would be my pick as well, but since it's lying on my disc almost untouched and I'm installing FEAR just right now, I wouldn't be so sure.
Basically, if you're looking for something intelligent if somewhat unpolished, get Deus Ex, possibly look for MODs polishing it.
If you just want to shoot stuff in a decent horror story, go ahead and get FEAR.

Well, I was always more into gameplay so I will pick Deus Ex :) Thanks a lot for your help only two more tiny questions : Is Deus Ex 2 as good as Deus ex? Is Deus Ex long game?

Don't you EVER ask that question on any boards again. The first one, that is. You will remind everyone of the game and start a RAGEWAVE! Anyway, I kind of liked the second game, not nearly as good as the first one, but decent on it's own.
And Deus Ex IS quite long actually, well according to today's standards at least.

Deus Ex .

If you are looking for a good first person shooter with nice effects, get FEAR.
If you are looking for a good FPS/RPG combo, get Deus Ex.
Deus Ex should provide you with longer gameplay an replayability, if you can tolerate its graphics and animation and even aiming (I can't explain the last one). It is the better game.
BUT, if you want some clean FPS fun, then FEAR is the only way to go from the two choices.
I am a long time gamer (gaming since the early 80s) but I just can't stand how older 3D games look anymore. When I tried to play Deus Ex earlier this year, after several years without touching the game, while I could feel the gameplay and story coming back, the graphics just killed it for me.
So, one last time. If you want the better looking game and a no frills FPS game, get FEAR. If you are willing to play with older 3D graphics and want more thinking in your play, get Deus Ex.

If you wait long enough you can probably get both Deus Ex games awesomely cheap from STEAM in the future. It has happened before you know.
But that's probably true for FEAR + expansions too.
As for my personal opinion: FEAR couldn't hold much of my attention, but I like to call Deus Ex the "Goldeneye whore mouth shutter", because it is so awesomely good gameplay wise that it will make any and every Goldeneye whore go cry in the corner, mouth shut.
(P.s.: You DO know that Goldeneye whores tend to claim that ancient console game is the first coming of the FPS messiah, right?)

Unfortunately it is one of the saddest stories in gaming.... Deus Ex (as you'll probably come back here and comment yourself when you've played it) is a deep, vast, interesting and utterly brilliant game with an intricate interface that actually makes you feel like a bit of an agent yourself. Not to mention the different skill trees or the awesome mods that have been made for it. For me all these points make game shines out as one of the greats.
Then there’s 2...
Think like Disney remaking pulp fiction. Some misguided exec thought it was unfair on us gaming folk to have to think to hard with things like plot, atmosphere, decisions etc. so to give our poor lil minds a rest they made deus ex2 devoid of everything that made the first one great.
There’s talk of 3 in the pipeline, but I'll be happy to wait and see with that one....

DE2 is a good game. no. a quite great game although it was consolefied.
the rage and hatred towards it comes from one single fact: it is not like DE1 in terms of complexity, storyline or characters... it is not a proper sequel.
As a standalone game. DE2 is solid, very enjoyable game...

A fair point in one sense but when you look at games that have sequelled so well like Max Payne (Awesome) followed up by Max Payne 2 (Slightly more Awesome) you can see that if you set the bar that high in the first instance, to fall so far below the standard is likely to leave you with something legitimatly disliked.
