Today I finished watching Sherlock Holmes movie and it was simply amazing. I am too impatient to wait for next Sherlock Holmes movie I would want to know if anybody knows about similiar movies like this (Interesting storyline, plot twists etc.). Any help appreciated :)

If you have netflix there are alot of Sherlock Holmes Movies to watch - even the old 1940's

All three Sherlock Holmes movies featuring Matt Frewer and Kenneth Welsh are amazing.

What about the modern TV series, Sherlock? It's slightly related after all. (They both have the name Sherlock in the title)

Hm... Reading your post my first thought was Robert Downey, so I'll recommend "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang"

Not a Holmes movie, but sounds like the thing you are looking for.

The best Sherlock Holmes was Jeremy Brett.

Just had to say that. I'm currenlty going through his episodes now, and he's brilliant.

Anyway, I'd also recommend Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, it's quite a good film, and possibly the best thing Val Kilmer's been in for many years.

I thought a lot of people hated the movie.

They did. It's basically a 1950's TV serial done with modern special effects techniques. If you've no appreciation for the genre (hokey post-war sci fi) it's meaningless and somewhat vapid. Which was the point.

I hated it because it basically ignored everything from the original story. :P

I'd like to throw in a slightly odd one, but you seem to have interests that would lead you there. Have you seen the film "Brick". It is in my opinion a brilliant mix of film noir, and american high school movie. It's dark, very fast (you need to really pay attention to every line), and very clever.

Failing that, I'd recommend the Coen Brothers films. They've done a lot, I recently saw True Grit in the cinema, and loved it. Their older stuff like Millers Crossing and Fargo are accepted as classics.

Of course, you also missed off The Usual Suspects.
