My motherboard z97 gives a9 error. What should i do to fix that. Thanks for your time

I'm not entirely certain, but I believe that might be the error code displayed when the BIOS has trouble applying the settings.

A BIOS reset might be required, if something has possibly messed things up.

Sorry, but I don't have any further answers on the subject!

Have you tried starting the computer with a minimal system? One RAM, only keyboard, mouse, one hardrive?

For what it's worth I checked the motherboard's manual on ASUS' site and that is what I was thinking as well.

Thanks to all who tried to help . How do you reset bios? Sry for being noob its my first system build. Also - do you have Any other ideas? A9 error comes up when i press a key on my keyboard to continue to BIOS.

If you have a manual for your motherboard, you should be able to find a jumper to clear CMOS. Unplug the PC, short the jumper for a few seconds, and then plug it in and try to start as normal.

Many manuals normally have this info in them, in the appropriate section.

EDIT: Just to clarify, do not start the PC with anything shorting the CMOS clear pins!

Ok. Ill try to figure out-maybe i did the bios reset wrong way . Thanks for trying to help. Ill try to do all the things above , so im sure if i did all of them right and didnt mess up as always lol. If the problem gets solved, i will inform you all. Im really happy that so many people rushed to help me. Thanks to all, now ill get some sleep and see what i can try tomorrow.

Is this a new build, or a machine you've been using for a while?

Edit: I see the bit about a first system build, but did you ever get it working or are you still trying to get it to run for the first time?

It was not working at the start. Same peoblem. Its new build.

Did some googling. Try following the instructions here. (Pretty simple: remove any discrete graphics cards, connect monitor to motherboard, do a CMOS reset.)

Although not really helpful, in the past most PC computers included a built-in PC-Speaker. Not only did it give crappy basic sounds you could program in Qbasic and DOS, but also when the motherboard refused to work, it would give you a series of beeps during startup telling you which part of your motherboard failed, then you'd just look it up in your motherboard manual and go from there...

Tried everything above. Didnt work. ;/
