Hi everybody,
I hope fellow gogers will help because this is one of best communities I ever met. So I was planning on buying notebook Asus G73JH-TZ002Z. I wanted just to ask if there is possibility on purchasing Desktop Computer same or better quality for same or less money. The notebook costs 40000 CZK (rougly about 2000 dollars, 1600 euros, 1334 british pounds) and specifications are on this page http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=8je5Ot4HBnKOdT81 .(I dont travel a lot so all that matters to me are the specs). I would be really happy if you could post the recommended components for the computer so I could let someone build it for me.

there are a number of posts here talking about PC building but for $2k no matter what the notebook you can build a PC that will wipe the floor with it.
this is a month ago before the Geforce 460 was released and didn't use ATI cards (which were the same price then and better) and then only hit $942 add $300 for everything elseand your still looking at less than 2k..
as a note though now is exactly the wrong time to upgrade new parts are due out in less than 3 months from AMD/ATI and Intel

Desktops are always infinitely cheaper, much more powerful, and if built properly, don't suffer from overheating.
Never let someone build a computer for you. Most people will select what they want for themselves, not you, and everyone is different. It's a very useful thing to know how to build your own computer.
I recommend starting here:

New ATI stuff isn't coming out until Q1 2011, no?

If you want to build a desktop computer your self, you might want to check this thread first post and/or ask in the thread.

My new PC build is detailed
here. It would definitely hit the upper end of your budget but provide excellent performance. The new GTX460 would dramatically reduce the price and still give very good performance.
The one thing I'd suggest is having a look at a few PC building tutorials on youtube, its really very easy these days and is rather satisfying to do the job yourself
