I ended up with Rune Factory 3 - I have played the original for countless hours, but had grown tired of the dull villagers, lack of quests, and completely uninspired battle system. All of which they've corrected! <3

Thanks everyone for all the advice - I'll be referring to this thread in the future for more DS recommendations :D

crap i guess im late i just wanted to suggest buying any of the harvest moon series games, they are absolute fun :D specially if you like farming games excellent story, in short it pwns the facebooks farmville any day
