Master of Orion series (I even liked the 3 if it wasn't for the bugs)

I was never good at MoO, but in 3 there was the code crunch or similar that meant what you were building was completed. You did get a message at the end saying to try not to cheat next time.

I really enjoy Master of Magic.. might be worth a look?

Yesterday i purchased Disciples, Eador, King of Dragon pass and put Sacrifice in my wish list.

I played Disciples last night and love it!

Earth 2150 is an okish game, i have it, forgot to mention it. "shots falling all around" cute, lol. This game is potentially a brilliant game, but a bit like a great movie that feels too short.... the game needs a bit more 'meat' on its bones for my taste.

That's a first person shooter/adventure rite? Usually I'm always disappointed by those type of games since Quake 1, with the exception of dungeonsiege 2..... actually, thinking of first person shooters/adventure games, i just remembered Turok! Beautiful game!!

Not really my thing.....Not unless you get to ram the cars in front at the Mc Donalds drive through??? I have always fantasized of doing that! (who hasn't??)

Have them, never gave the games much of a go, When i first tried the game i found it a bit icky, cramped and not easy to figure out whats going on...... and i just wasn't in the right mood ,,, probably never will be.

Going by how primitive Lords 2 is already, i don't think i would like 1. Usually i do not like earlier game versions, most recently i got Total war after playing Total war 2 and then i did not like the look and feel of Total war at all even though i know it has allot of fans.

Have it... if it is the game i am thinking of, i was a bit frustrated by the camera angling (or lack thereof) and gave up.

KOD? Never heard of Sword of the Stars? Is it more like X series or Galactic civilisation series? Anything like the Galciv series i will surely LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As far as Sword of the Stars 1, I was a huge GalCiv2 fan, and liked SOTS even more. It has both a strategic and tactical part of each turn..although, the tactical part only takes part if you are attacking, or being attacked. The tactical is in real time, but you can pause, and change game speed to suit your needs. Think of it as GalCiv2 on steroids, lol. Anyway, the poster isn't the most exciting in this youtube, but the video will give you a good idea of the gameplay:

The coolest part of the game is there are 5 (or perhaps it's 6, been a while since I've played it) different races, and you need to play them each in a unique way, which makes the game worth hours and hours of fun, challenging gameplay

Seems like you generally like 4X and RTS games, which I don't know very well, but if you enjoy tactical RPGs, I will recommend Betrayal at Krondor.

Based on the popular fantasy series by Feist, and written by Neal Halford, it is quite possibly the most well written of the RPG storylines during the golden age of computer RPGs: The plot is epic in scope, and much better than its contemporaries like world of xeen, while more accessible than say wizardry 7. Even the item descriptions are written beautifully in prose, and not just some placeholder text with statistics. And the puzzles are actually quite good, requiring real thinking to solve. Playing the game feels like reading a good novel. If you're familiar with the novels, it takes place after the 3rd book and before the 4th book, but you don't need to have read the novels at all to enjoy it. (though there are a few easter eggs and cameos for novel readers to appreciate)

The game is one of the earliest open worlds. You can pretty much explore the whole game world from the very beginning and disregard the main plotline, except you would probably get your ass handed to you, since there is no level scaling, and combats can be brutally difficult if you don't strategize. The openness of the game is actually a great mechanic, since you, the player character, have to figure out the best way to reach your mission objectives, and that's not always a straight line path if there are ambushes and traps in your way. The game gives careful players lots of clues about what lies ahead. Combat is turn based and tactical, since you are almost always outnumbered, and you need to flank enemies, lure them in etc while protecting your mage.

It's an old game from 1992, so it's not the prettiest overall and the interface can be a bit clunky, but there's some great art in that game. Well worth playing. If you do get it, use my music/sfx guide.
