langurmonkey: There are many things you can say about all women and all men due to our bodies, what is inside our bodies and our history.

RaggieRags: Physical stuff, mostly yes. What comes to our past, no human has the same experiences as any other.
And that is what prevents us from being almost clones but 99.9% of humans are very much alike. People who are truly different from us, died off a long time ago because they couldn't make it in this world. There are some unique people out there but they are less than 1%. If we were all truly, unique, truly different from each other, society wouldn't exist.

You're right, they're even more complicated and different ;).

Believe what you want to believe. There are people out there, who are extremely good at manipulating people. Scam artists and seducers, for example. If people were as complicated and different from each other as you think, such people wouldn't exist... If what you believe is true, people wouldn't be able to go around and manipulate people left and right, seduce people left and right. People who desire to manipulate and seduce, would have to study one person for years before being able to manipulate or seduce that one person. It would be too much of a pain in the ass.

Hmmm, it would appear from my rep that I've offended either transsexuals, cross dressers or Licurg. Let's see, it's virtually impossible to offend Licurg, so he's out. I wear women's clothes all the time and I'm not offended so that rules out cross dressers. That leaves transsexuals. That begs the questions, how many transsexuals are GOG forum members and more importantly, how could my post in anyway be considered offensive by any of them?

Someone call NASA! And MENSA! And Stephen Hawking! We need our best people on this one!

Thought experiment: place either of these geniuses in a culture they are not familiar with. Hell - let's generously assume they even know the language. I'm sure they'd continue to thrive ;).
When it comes to seduction in particular... it only works because people WANT to be seduced. Yeah, I know, too me a while to figure that one out too ;P.
BTW - does the claim that people are not that different from each other assume that women are people, or are you saying that men and women AREN'T all that different from each other?

That's basically how relationships works... If you try to make use of previous knowledge by the virtue of "that's how things worked with my ex", you're in for one hell of a disappointment... Hell - to use a trivial example - this applies to sex. You need extensive research to figure each person's kinks out, all of that goes down the drain once you switch...
Unfortunately - there are people who think along the lines of "This is my first match (in this new MOBA game), although I've played League for years". Protip: only broad strokes apply... vaguely.

I'm saying all men on this Earth aren't so different from each other and all women on this Earth aren't so different from each other. Men and women are very different from each other.

Some people find the word transsexual offensive because it implies they are less of the gender they identify as. And some people find the word transsexual offensive because this word makes it sound like these people have something wrong with them. I believe, these people, just prefer to treated like normal people, a he or a she.

You're offending my intellect by assuming you've lost rep because of the most recent thread you've posted in, one in which you have no down-repped posts as of yet. Post hoc, ergo propter hoc, huh? I DOESN'T WORK THIS WAY!

The word itself isn`t negative, a word is just neutral. That`s just because we are notorious to put everything into certain "categories", mainly because we don`t understand it. Or fear it.
Let's see what Austin has to say about this.

langurmonkey: Well it all depends on the tastes of the female games in the future. If their tastes become close to mine, then my fear is not illogical. Then there will be more profit in making the type of games I like, cater to both genders(which means it not really catering to anyone) instead of catering to males. It's impossible to please everyone to a point with one game where everyone will love it. That is fact. One of the games I love, Vampire - Bloodlines, obviously caters to males. If back then, 50% of PC RPG gamers were females, there is a good chance, a lot of things would of been changed in this game or cut out(to make it more female friendly). Then it wouldn't be as good in my eyes. Equality doesn't work when it comes to entertainment, sorry.
Langur,

Let's be clear, because you pretty much repeated your argument instead of responding to my counter.
Your fear is that as women become the focus of games producers, there will be less games you like.

Let's say we had a million male gamers, zero female, and 5 games you liked (per year).
In future let's assume same million male gamers and 2 million female gamers.
How many games will you like?

You say/expect less than now. While I say chances are good that with 3Mill total gamers, there will be more total games made, and so you may even have more games you like.

Likewise your example of a specific game does not prove anything. Even if you're right and V:B would be different (not to your taste), how can you be sure there would be nothing else done for your tastes?

So again: your fear is illogical, and likely groundless.

I wonder if there are other means of entertainment which women consume on parity to men?
If your argument is right I guess you won't find male catered stuff in those media.
What do you think, are books, movies, tv shows consumed by all genders equally on average?
Does that mean there are no such media catering to men?

(heck... porn, by itself, pretty much makes my argument)
Haha, reading the latest posts I had to go to the first page to see what this thread was about, read it and after a few seconds I found the connection of how they went from first post to last page.
My conclusion after exhaustively examining the first post and knowing how the human brain tends to fill in information when gaps occur in its feeding led me to realize that some people read the first post up to a specific point, where their brains filled in the blanks.
Therefore I present you the quotation.

First post excerpt: "I just read an interesting article about the growth and size of the female..............."

Wait, you mean the OP was talking about how females are going to be several times larger than males in the future and eat us after the mating ritual, as is the case for many spiders?

I didn't get that at all.
