Is there any update on this project? I'm excited about it but can't find a website or anything
Thanks for the bump. I missed this the first time. No way I would have committed to $200 or to get people to pledge $200. I think that's a bad way to go about it. Perhaps an initial Kickstarter for a prototype and then a second one for the full product would have worked. People have done double Kickstarters before.

Seems like BaK successor will happen, but not anytime soon.

I still don't know why everyone ga ga's over Betrayal at Krondor's story. It didn't make any impression to me. I recall there were sometimes lots of text, but... Normal fantasy stuff, I think.

What I liked about BaK:

+ Simple yet rewarding tactical, turn-based combat.

+ The user interface was easy to learn and comprehend.

+ Nice "RPG" touches like trying to mend your weapons/armor yourself, day/night cycle etc.

What I didn't like in BaK:

- It didn't have any kind of quest log IIRC, so you had to write down where to go and what to do.

- Sometimes I was a bit lost in the wilderness due to it 3D graphics, navigating around wasn't quite at easy as it could be. I actually would have preferred the game would have used an overhead view, like in Ultima 7, Baldur's Gate etc.

- The 3D graphics were quite poor already back when it was released. Compare it to e.g. Ultima Underworld 1-2 etc.

Overall: it was ok. Just ok. Ok enough for me to actually complete it once.
Well, I was a big Feist fan, and it had a more mature, complex plot for its time, and gameplay that was quite thoughtful - not just the turn based tactical combat but also noticing and avoiding ambushes, using the open world freedom to plot different routes etc.
