Awesome. I would back this in a heartbeat.

If the original prototype shows up in the Kickstarter rewards (if there is to begin with, I don't exactly know what went on, just that it was cancelled due to restructuring), I might pay a little extra. :P

Hello Neal, welcome to GOG :) I know this might be a little off-topic, but have you ever played Sacrifice? It's one of the best games ever made, but one of the least-known as well. Be sure to pick it up at one point, maybe you can use it as inspiration :P

You know I am surprised you have not review the game in the Sacrifice page, would have been most helpful review :)

It already had dozens of reviews when I joined GOG. Didn't see the point :P
Nowadays every " dead " developer felt the smell of the fresh Kickstarter money and returning from their " graves " . :)

If Kickstarter is the only means by which real CRPG's will start getting made again (as opposed to the publisher model) then so be it, obviously this method of funding will be a major culture shock to some people.

It's better than replaying the old classics multiple times and sitting on internet boards complaining, and the only alternate is that these games don't get made, and the ever-growing turd pile of multi-platform action "RPG's" grows even higher.

Agree with you .
Like I said in many forums on the internets, I WILL pledge my kidney to get this game made.

nealiios: Hi guys, Neal Hallford here. Was requested to make a quick flyby here to say hello and just comment on a few things.

First off, regarding the $200 thing. This is mainly about asking people to commit to either donating that themselves (which will be a small fraction), or having them go out and persuade enough of their friends to collectively donate $200 to make this happen. The vast majority of this project, if and when it happens, will be funded by $5 and $10 donations, but a signficant portion of that will be because there are fans who are willing to evangelize for us and MAKE it happen.

Why not go straight to Kickstarter? Because we need to build up the second tier members of our team, and that will only be possible if we can demonstrate a solid interest in this title. And we're not going to Kickstarter until I'm positive we've got the team we need to make it actually happen. For us, this is absolutely the right thing to do.

Best wishes to all!
Neal
Welcome to GOG, Neal! I will back if it goes live. I'm sure others will too. I hope you get the five thousand sigs, but I'm telling you; do the kickstarter and you will get the proof you need. It's more visible than the petition imo. Show us what you are wanting to make. I know enough of the games you've worked on I would back in an instant.

I can see it now.

$1000 pledge:

Get a collector's edition of the game, with poster, t-shirt, bumper sticker, miniature and world map. In addition, you get to have your firstborn kissed by Neal and John!.

I will sell my spleen just for this tier.
