I'm starting to hesitate when I'm about to check my mail on Yahoo. It's not that it's a bad email service, they even seem to offer some interesting additional services, rather that it's getting a little awkward.

I guess it's not that bad being greeted with "Make me cum now" or similar by persons with random female names the second I log in if I've missed to block said person before amongst the hail of friend requests.

Maybe they're just very friendly at Yahoo?

I've never used Yahoo Messenger. It's a haven for spambots. I deactivated the built-in messenger at their mail service the minute it was available.

Their email service is nice though, I've had my account for close to sixteen years.

How do I deactivate the messenger in their mail service? I've looked for a way but it have eluded me so far.
Interesting. There doesn't seem to be a way to turn it off.

I just went to the options tab, clicked on "Messenger", and blocked everyone not on my contact list. Which also happens to be blank. Ha. :(

Ha ha ha. I did exactly the same and mine was empty too. Lets not try to draw any conclusions about this shall we?

Thanks to Fuckbook, I'm in a somewhat similar position. Only a few people online (Windows Live Messenger) nowadays.
Seems like I get a lot more spam on my Yahoo! account now.

I have my yahoo email tied to my facebook account, and suspiciously my yahoo email is the only email that gets 100+ spam emails and 3+ friend requests every time I log into it. Mark Zucker I hope you get lobotimized for your plans for the internet.
I only use yahoo for my throwaway account. It is not that it is a bad service, but there is something about it that rubs me the wrong way.

My mom has been getting a lot more spam since she (unfortunately) joined facebook. I don't think it is just yahoo, although yahoo doesn't have the best reputation for spam filtering.

I couldn't find Fuckbook, do you have a link to this service? I... know someone who might be interested:)

You know, after I posted that I thought about it and decided there probably actually is a "fuckbook" somewhere out there...
My yahoo adress is my primary "serious" E-Mail, which I use for all non work e-mails. And it is 100% spam free. The best way to avoid spam is to be careful with your adress in the first place. Don't sign up on every forum with your primary e-mail, don't enter polls and no you didn't win an ipad.

While my yahoo account isn't the email I use for facebook, I use it to synchronize my contacrs with facebook. So far no spam. *knock on wood*

I use two different email addresses via Yahoo, on my secondary account i have over 850 spams currently blocked. Yahoo messenger is totally annoying as someone pointed out earlier. I'm getting sick of Yahoo.
