When I saw the thread title, I thought it was about this Myth series - which I very much recommend. Very funny stuff!

Long before I'd heard of Myth the PC strategy games™

I always used to think of this one first!

Loved playing it in the days of my old A500+ (along with a ton of others)

Never did get past the Egyptian level =\

I don't think time has been half as kind to it though =(

I think it's one of the best strategy games of all-time - if not the best.

Full of character, interesting units (+counter-units), ballistics and top notch presentation all the way through.

It isn't particularly difficult to get it to run with the files found on the tain

The only problem is... *everytime* someone mentions it I feel the urge to replay it again! (for the archers & dwarfs!)

(...just where did it put those CD's ?)
I agree about the archers and dwarfs. I usually made my entire team expendable in order to make the archers and dwarfs do their job exceedingly well. Which is why I probably lose a lot. :)
