Eidos was publishing a lot of games at that time, but from what I understand they didn't have any "proper" rights to them. For example I was surprised recently by finding Eidos logo on my Blood CD.

The original, 2D GTAs are on there - only available as part of packs with other GTA games but still...

They surely had all the rights to many of the games they published (such as Tomb Raider). The thing is that in case of games like Myth they were obviously just contracted to handle European marketing and distribution for a game that had been funded/produced in the US. That's a fairly common and to some degree necessary thing, especially for smaller companies (which was certainly true for Bungie who published Myth themselves in the US).

That's a different story because Eidos owned Core Design. Perhaps I shouldn't have said published but distributed. That's what CD Projekt was doing for the most part until they got into game development.

Maaan - that's rough! and there was me still hoping that London 1969 (and the obscure '61 expansion) would get added..
Although, saying that, I think the GTA 1 was available as freeware from the Rockstar site at one point too, and on Freeloader before that...

gta 1 and 2 and a third game red something were freeware for years at least since 2005
and now they arent anymore

Actually it was Wild Metal Country. I managed to snatch all three of those a few years ago.

MYTH: TFL and MYTH 2: Soulblighter are the 2 GOAT games for me.

The user generated content powered by fear & loathing are excellent too - dwarf riot, WW2: RECON, the seventh god, BUSHIDO, Lego, Jinn, CHIMERA, wild west and the civil war mod to name a few..

I bought some discs for way-too-cheap off of Amazon last year. I've never played 3 (I heard it was rubbish) but 1 and 2 were grand games.
