I'm over 300 games and the shelf is just insanely big.
I think subfolders (different block of shelves maybe)
would help.

I've been using my manual settings for years now attempting to arrange by genre, but I cant' imagine having to start from scratch at this point. With 70 games, I would say manual settings is definitely doable. For me however? 372 games and growing... yikes!

I wish the game shelf would show at least 10 games per row instead of 5.

+1 and voted on the wishlist. Genre sorting would help quite a bit

Theta_Sigma: I know it's no multi-shelf function, however, I do like that if you type in a genre in the search function (ex. rpg, tpp, horror, adventure, etc...) it brings up all games of that specific category. I hope that may be of some help to the OP. :)
donsanderson: That works great! Never thought of trying it on the games shelf.
Thanks and a +1 :-)

I'd actually prefer a virtual room where I could place shelves the size I want wherever I want and put whatever games I wanted in each one. ^_^
Also, I'd really love to be able to see a list of all the games that were gifted to me and by who. Seriously, that would be an awesome feature to have.

Reading through what various people would like to have, it can all be simplified down to providing a user interface on the website which allows various forms of advanced sorting and filtering for the most part, ie:
Sort based on:
- Title
- Date of game release
- Date of game purchase
- Date of last update
- Popularity of game (number of people who own it in their shelves)
- Game rating
- <insert your favourite additional sorting criterion here>
- Purchase price
- Current price (including sales)
Filter in/out based on a combination of one or more of:
- Game genre
- Publisher
- Developer
- Year and/or lists and/or range(s) of years. ie: "2004", "1995-1999", "1990-1995,2001-2003" ...
- Price range (Purchase price)
- Price range (Current price (including sales))
- single player, multiplayer, co-op multiplayer, local multiplayer
And also the ability to create an arbitrary number of "custom" views that are hand picked by the user like the current manual game shelf mode, which can have an arbitrary title such as "My Favourite Games" and similarity similar to GOG mixes in that regard but more powerful and capable and integrated into the user account instead of a list you create and can never find again (GOG mixes). This would allow people to do things like "Games I've Completed" lists, "Games I want to play this year" etc.
Since it's just a small amount of data in a database it would be easy to implement and negligible resource consumption on the GOG side, but a very cool enhancement for the userbase. Some people would use feature A, B and C, but not D, E, and F, other people would use feature D and F, etc. Basically a set of useful features that will appeal to various people in different ways giving the gamer the choice of what features and experience they want to have.
Even better if the site gains the ability to create "friend" linkages in a social network context, and the ability to share your game shelf visibility with other users on a custom game list by list manner. ie: Everyone can see my entire game list except these 5 games, plus I made a custom "Games I Completed" and "Games I want to play soon" list, and my wishlist to share with my contacts, and I think I'll share the games I own and my wishlist also with "everybody". That sort of thing.
With that level of flexibility, just about everything people want is possible, and with the ability to share your owned games list and wishlist with others, it would GREATLY simplify the task of buying people presents for their birthday/holidays, or just feeling generous.
