I encountered an odd problem recently. When I was going into the account menu a few days ago I accidentally hit the "Log Out" button. When I logged back in I discovered that the My Recent Posts link doesn't work anymore. It just redirects me back to the root forum page. This link is also the one used by the "You have 1 topic with unread replies" message, so that doesn't work either.

Has anyone else encountered this glitch? My environment is Windows 7 and the Pale Moon browser.

I've had something similar for months - every time I try to go to "Forum Replies, I just get a blank screen, and this happens on all browsers I tried, and on 2 different PCs.

Same configuration, the only problem I've encountered is the constant wrestling with the GOGbears! ;-P

But I'm going to give you the most invaluable advice that a GOGer ever received on this forum - contact GOG Support. ;-P

Yah, I probably will eventually. But I wanted to gather other user experiences first, since I suspect it might be something more to do with local configuration than GOG itself.

How much have you tinkered with Pale Moon's default settings? Any changes made that coincide with the appearance of the problem?

Maybe try a fresh profile?

It seemed to happen as a consequence of logging out and then back in. I tried flushing cookies, disabling GreaseMonkey and AdBlockPlus, and nothing seems to restore the setting. So it may be something on GOG's side after all. Guess I'll go ahead with a Support ticket and see what they say.
Interestingly this feature still works on my other computer, which makes me think it's not purely an issue with GOG. Looking at my account there, I have three cookies set which aren't set here:

__utmv
Origin
xmas13_mb

I suspect the absence of the first one is what is causing the problem, but can't confirm it yet. I'm going to see if there's a tool on the web that lets you manually write cookies to the browser.

It sounds more likely to be something on GOG's side (like my shelf getting completely messed up and all my games marked as "NEW"). I'd still try a new profile or Safe Mode, just to be sure.

Nope, I was right, it was the missing cookie __utmv. I recreated it with Firebug using the following values:

Name: __utmv
Host: .gog.com
Path: /
Value: [this should be blank]

Once that was added the link worked fine. So if anyone else is having this problem, feel free to try this fix out.

Nice!
Out of curiosity, what do you use the "My posts" page for? It feels pretty useless to me, along with the rest that tries to resemble some form of one's post history.

I don't really use it that much. As you point out, its utility value is limited due to its short scope. But it's the same page that handles the "You have X topics with unread replies" link, which I use all the time. So with that broken it was a real pain trying to find my recent replies.

Thanks for quoting my post, incidentally. Since I can't mark my own post as the solution, I've marked yours since it contains it. :)

Even for that purpose, it's only good for replies from game-specific fora (for obvious reasons). But for the "General discussion" forum, you get a little gear (the first one from the list) next to the thread title, and clicking on it takes you straight to the unread reply. That's how I usually check unread replies, unless it's been a few days and they have fallen more than a few pages back.

I didn't know that one can't mark another post of theirs as the solution.
Thanks for the credit, but you could have just left it "unsolved". ;-)

For me it aggregates all the replies at the top, including those from the general forum, thus obviating the need to search for the ones with the reply symbol. I find that very convenient.

I want it marked as SOLVED in case anyone has this issue. That way they know there's an answer inside. :)

It works the same way for me too, I'm just saying that the threads are in plain display in front of me when I log into the forum (i.e. no need to search for them or click away).

Oops, didn't think of that - good point.

BTW, check your PMs, you've got work to do. :-)

Nothing yet. Something soundtrack-related in the pipeline?
