Personally, I am of the mind that cartoons and anime often treat the viewer with more respect than live-action productions.

WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME????

WBGhiro: Embrace your inner pony.

But yes, you two pretty much described perfectly why this show is so appealing.

No I just wanted to show you it, which I thought funny as hell.

And Ironic in this sense:

Transformers ended up butt-raped by Michael Bay, while My Little Pony became the most famous thing on the Internet of all time thanks to friendship is magic.
Did anyone else notice the System Shock 2 monkey sounds in 'The Best Night Ever' and 'A Canterlot Wedding Part 1?'

Seriously... in 'The Best Night Ever' there's one when Fluttershy sees all the animals for the first time, and in 'A Canterlot Wedding Part 1' there's another right as Rarity reacts to learning that TS's brother is captain of the royal guard.

Did you know that dragon episode that was basically a parody of the Hobbit?

I thought it was ok. But I was really confused as to what it was trying to be. The animation and voice acting were both close to the real deal. They kept the lighthearted tone and the end moral. At first it seemed like they wanted to be as close to a real episode as they could. But then midway through the whole thing takes a flying leap (literally) into fanfic territory, and suddenly feels more like a piece of youtube satire than an attempt at being a believable episode.

And, the pacing of just about everything was really sluggish, making it rather hard to watch.

I dunno. It just ended up feeling weird to me in many ways. Even though a lot of care was put into it, there wasn't a moment where I forgot it was a student film project by MLP fans rather than a real episode.

Yeah, I agree that some of it really reeks of crossover fanfiction, but honestly being that this is a fan made tribute I was expecting worse. I also liked how they both remained faithful to do show's animation but also introduced their own spin on it (I love those styilized ponies).

All in all for a senior project with basically no budget(?), I think it turned out great, sure it has a lot of issues, but I found it more than worthwhile watching.
So season 4 isn't out yet, and probably won't be fore a few months. Anyone know how long it might take to get to Netflix? I'm not familiar with how they handle those things. Are episodes released on Netflix as they air, or will we have to wait until the end of the season?

If so, it sounds like I'll have to pace myself through season 3 :(

Netflix gets them after awhile, my kiddo tells me season 3 is already out on Netflix, for awhile it was as they aired, but it's not always that way, sometimes it lags by quite a bit.

Did you check out snowdrop? I myself thought that snowdrop felt like a real episode, only shorter and minus the main characters. and it made me cry. alot.
