Oh and also this thing called "Season 3" started. I'm not sure what it is though.

You haven't missed much honestly, the whole episode(s) was rather sub-par.

I'm not into panic mode yet, but I do hope Studio B hasn't been slacking off on this season, and the other episodes are of the usual quality. I guess they just can't get the pacing right on the double episodes.

I think part of the problem is that it seems to be setting up a season long arc (I'd hope something subtle), and we haven't seen how it will affect things just yet. I enjoyed it, though.

Is it? I thought it was a single serve location, they got there, they left again. And now we know why there's crystal versions of the toys. There doesn't seem to be much else to it, unless I missed something, of course.

The discussion Celestia and Luna had at the beginning? The book Luna held up at the end? Neither of those have really been explained. I have no idea if the Crystal Empire will be a recurring thing (though it'd be nice to see some Crystal Ponies in the background every now and then).
