It is obvious that they do not know the facts. It seems to me that she is only reading the tabloids for her information. Yes most people make their decisions based on what is popular, whether it is the truth or not. They do not take the time to check out the facts for themselves.

Today I saw a news piece on CNN about the Obama campaign in some part of Ohio. Seems the majority in this particular part of Ohio won't vote on Obama, simply because he's black. They also quoted a lady saying something like "But he's a muslim!". So yeah, if Fox News is the only channel you watch... you sorta view the world in a very unique way. :D

Twisted? Yes. Factually inaccurate? Yes. Unique? Unfortunately, no. If the number of people who believed what they saw on Fox News was small enough to be considered a "unique" segment of the population, well, it wouldn't be a problem.

It's a little more complicated than that. In addition to being below average intelligence, these people are scared. Scared of terrorists, scared of Al-Qaeda. The government and Fox News do their best to lead us to believe that there are imminent terrorist threats to America from both within and without. Reason being, people are far easier to control when they are scared. Far easier.
I almost feel sorry for these people, until I remember that they are voters.

you're absolutely right that a statement like that is ridiculous.
however there's no reason whining about it. I don't know how many democratic people say Bush is a tyrant.. if that was true they wouldn't have tongues to speak with.. there would be a movie being made about how many mistakes he's made and just going over the top with it.
Anyway, you might be asking about my political beliefs. I am not for any candidate. I am displeased with Obama/Biden and McCain/Palin.. Oddly enough, 'McCain' doesn't show up as a spelling error in firefox 3, but all the other last names do. Hmm..
Anyway, yeah, they're all foolish, and this bickering/fighting between the two parties, like always, just shows how juvenile the whole process has become. We might as well just have our presidency decided by cage match tournaments..

I'd point and laugh and say how American politics is a joke but then I remember that we've got someone running our country who wasn't even voted in and then I get a sad face.
Basically, you're damned whoever you vote in as they'll find some way to screw you over. Lets just hope the one voted in screws over the US and the rest of the World the least.

Unfortunately there are many who do only watch Fox News... In my case though, McCain lost the slim chance he had at my vote the minute he chose Palin as his running mate.

Absolutely. I know tons of people who only watch Fox news and only listen to right-wing and/or Christian broadcasters on the radio. This is not at all a rarity where I live, and most of America is far more conservative than where I live(Southern California).
