It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I'm relatively new here, and love the site, but the 4th game I've purchased is giving me a 'bad signature' error when I try to add it to the downloader. I have sent 3 messages via the support page, but have yet to get a response. I did a forum search on the error message but can't find any similar problem explained. Can anyone help? Or will I have to dispute the charge with my CC company?

your CC company I dont think would touch it, are you using the new dowloader?

Have you tried downloading through the browser?

I presume you're using the new downloader? To be honest I also had bad signature issues with Interstate 76 and King's Bounty, but only those two (out of nearly 180 tried). What are the games you're having problems with?

Also, GOG's office is closed on weekends, so you'll not get any support till Monday, I'm afraid.

Edit: As Reaver894 suggested downloading through browser is a good workaround (that's what I did)

The downloader, while far better than the previous one, is probably the most troublesome and finicky part of GOG. Fortunately, though, its use is completely optional, so as reaver894 already mentioned just try downloading the game using your browser. GOG support can also sometime take a while to get back to you (and they don't work on weekends), but when they do eventually get to your ticket they tend to be pretty helpful, so hopefully either downloading through the browser will take care of things, or support will eventually be able to sort out what the problem is (or maybe EnigmaticT just needs to give the server gnomes another kick or two).

As others said Download through the browser...if that doesn't work clear you cookies/cache and restart the browser and download again.
Hey, thanks. I'll try downloading directly (why didn't I try that already???). And I suppose I shouldn't have been in such a hurry to get an answer on the weekend. It's Kings Quest 4,5,6.
Yes, guys, thanks so much. It worked like a charm. I LOVE this forum. XXXOOO
Just have patience, Europeans get the weekends off. :p

Glad you got it working.

9 times out of 10 the forums have the answer faster than support.

Personally I think that hilarious.
The new Downloader is extremely finicky. For me, a download will only transfer the very first time I add it to the Downloader (even if I delete it and partial files, it never works again), and only if I don't Pause it. I seriously think it's something to do with the server the files are kept on, and the way the Downloader ID's itself to said server (like the same way a third-party download manager will download a file from a secure server only as long as the URL is valid; once the URL expires, you have to replace it with a new one obtained by requesting a "fresh" download of the file).

I've been working on and off with Firek trying to figure out what the problem is while I was trying to download The Witcher: Enhanced Edition. During the interim I found it was easier to use Free Download Manager in conjunction with the "URL" replacement method.

URL Replacement Method in detail: This method is really only suitable for large files downloaded by users with ISPs that place horribly restrictive daily (or even "rolling" 30-or-so-days) transfer caps. In my case the only advantageous time for me to download the large 2GB files is between 2am and 7am (local time) which is when my ISP doesn't count activity against my cap.

Anyway, I'll explain the method using Free Download Manager, but I imaging it's the same using Download Accelerator Plus or similar programs. The first thing you want to do is install the FlashGot add-on to your browser of choice (in my case, Firefox). I don't think it matters which order you install FlashGot and FDM, but I already had FlashGot installed when I installed FDM.

Next, obviously, go to your My Account page, and choose the game you want to download. Once you click "Download using browser", you get the normal "What should Firefox do with this file?" window, only know there should be a FlashGot option with a drop-down menu next to it. It should already have "Free Download Manager" selected. If not, it'll probably say "(Browser built-in)", in which case you'll want to select FDM from the list.

Click "Save", and, if FDM is already open, you should now see a new "Add download" window. At the top of this window is the URL of the file. If this is the first time you're downloading, just click "OK", and it should start straight away. If you're already downloading this file, and you want to replace the file, first you want to right-click on the existing download (which should be in the "Stopped" status, due to an "Access Denied" response from the server), and click Properties. In this Properties window, click on the URL line and make sure it's clear. Now click on the new URL, and either right-click and choose Copy or press CTRL+C, and then Paste it in the other window's URL line.

Click "Cancel" on the new (the one you copied from) to close it, and then click OK/Apply on the existing download's Properties window. Now click "Start Download", and if you did it properly, the download should now resume without any problems.

Even if you don't pause the download of large files, you might still encounter an "Access Denied" error near the end of the download, especially if the third-party manager splits the download into several sections. This is because it has to send requests to the server to start new sections when old ones finish, and if the URL expires before all sections are finished, then you'll have to get a new one.
