OK, this is going to sound like typical tech-support bullshit but, since I do tech support from time to time, I know that its true.

Did you change anything about your machine, or install anything else on the machine since the time that the game worked? Anything? Some system setting, update some software, install a patch, Windows Update?

I had one guy once who insisted nothing had changed for days before I finally got an email saying "Well, the IT department came in and swapped my old computer for a new one whilst I was on holiday last week, but that couldn't be it - could it?"

I seemed to recall a cartoon from my childhood by the name of dot.

What a weird place for a memory surge like that..... 8)

Thanks bard.

Updated GPU driver. However, would that cause the game to be "unavailable". And all other games I have including TF2 worked after the update.

Yeesh dude. Are you this liberal with come-ons? ;P

Anyway, I've had this problem several times too. From my experience, there's no common solution. Usually it happens when the game is downloading an update, or thinks it's downloading an update, or is preparing to download an update, or just something along the lines of "I'm doing something with your game so I'm locking it with or without your permission".

Sometimes the problem goes away when you restart Steam. Other times you just have to sit and wait and hope it goes away. In my past experiences, the problem just goes away by itself.

Did you try that -cleancloud extension on the startup I mentioned. Definately worth a shot as you dont have any savegame as of yet

Not doing these suggestions for the giveaway, literally just wanting to try and help you get your game up and running.

However since you mentioned Soulbringer if my name pops up wouldnt mind that :)

Yeh - that could do it.

If you have a System Restore Point from a day or two ago it might be worth going back.

If not then downloading the version of the GPU drivers that worked and installing that might help. For going backwards in driver versions you are always better to completely uninstall the current version before installing the older one.

You could also just google for problems with this game and that GPU (and maybe even that driver version) - there may be a known issue.

"This game is currently unavailable. Please try again at another time."

Above is the error message that get every time I try to run this game after downloading if from Steam.

Let me list what I have done so far and none of which has worked:

Verified
Changed servers
Updated blob
Reinstalled
-cleancloud

Yeah, not gonna roll back the driver. If that's the case that is the only game affected. I don't believe that's what is causing this. I could be wrong. If I have to roll back. I'd just rather not play it.

Drivers are known to have done weirder things than just causing one specific game to be unplayable. I can understand why you would not want to roll back however.
Heres a daft one to try mate.

Exit out of Steam and right click the Steam startup icon and select run as administrator. You will get a warning from Steam that its not advised to do this but ignore the warning and start it anyway. Then try starting the game again.

I was having issues with Hitman Blood Money and doing this activated the game. After it activated and I managed to start the game I then exited out of game and Steam then started it normally and sorted permanently.

Yeah, I really don't think it's a driver issue though. Other people are reporting the same problem. So, hopefully we'll get to the bottom of it soon.

Alright, I'll give that a shot after I get it reinstalled.
