Another upcoming Kickstarter project .
I skimmed it through it but I can't help but be annoyed that they can't be honest of way they leave, I bet there's more to it then "we just want to move on".

Anyway, the increasing influence of EA in Bioware and the fact co-founders are leaving isn't helping their current reputation not that doesn't matter in case their on going projects will be a hit. Unfortunately, I can't help but think neither Dragon Age 3 nor Mass Effect 4 - No Shepard can help that. I think Bioware needs some new IPs and definiltey get away from this "larger audience, easier games" thing they have been going about.

Best outcome? Both guys start their own company and maybe use kickstarter for something new. They have experience with RPGs and Mass Effect, I don't know, why not pursue a hard science, isometric RPG? :)

Unless you think they're flat-out lying in their statements, then no.

Bioware has always been my favorite developer; I'm not sure what a "co-executive producer" actually does, but I wish them well.
Sad to see them go. But if you're no longer passionate about something, it's usually a good idea to move on and find something you're interested in. So good luck to both of them.

Or they just could change their mind after a year or so.
Must have been like being between a rock and a hard place these last years. On the one hand they had EA breathing down their necks, on the other they had to deal with increasingly hostile reactions from the gamers. Can't say that I liked the NEW Bioware either.

Ah well, whatever they're planning to do, best of luck to them.
So what?

Bioware games always had their strengths in the details, not the grand settings. And I doubt those two have written a single line of dialogue or codex entry since Baldur's Gate.
People leave jobs every day.

So what?

if its like movies, executive producers are the money-men.

of course, bank rolling does give you a lot of say... like, "i want my daughter to star in it." that type junk.

ill go ahead and assume they are the same for video games.

edit: after skimming the blogs, i could only think of one thing:

Non-Compete

i doubt BOTH had a change of heart at the SAME time.

There likely is, but there's no benefit to them to burn bridges.
