I like The Witcher series, both are very good games. Also, as a Pole, but mainly as a gamer I'm very happy that it has unique slavic style. Don't get me wrong, nothing chauvinist. It's just because about 80% of cRPGs are being created by Germans and they are stylizyed in German architecture, German mythology, etc. and it's of course justified because of the classic medieval conception. But it's quite good to have a little more of mystical forest or small parochial village with this whole slavic mythology (which definietly is not less interesting than Nordic or Greek, but not as much popular).

Please take a look at the picture related below. It's one of the Artur's Grottger drawings from the "Lithuania" series. It looks quite similar to first Act of The Witcher 2, and both of them reminds me stories about Vodyanoys, Rusalkas or Fern Flowers which my grandparents used to say when I was kid. Also there was a lot of books with fables about slavic mythology. Only 20 years of economic freedom have passed, but now in Poland we don't remember about our own mythology, don't have time or will to cultivate it (I don't mean religious side of course, just cultural one). Maybe it's more popular in eastern countries like Belarus or Ukraine, I don't know.

Why am I telling all that shit ;)? Because I'm happy that The Witcher series somehow keeps this slavic culture and even exports it to the whole world. But there is one more thing in The Witcher 3 I'm personaly very happy about. It's band called Percival and you might heard it in the latest trailer video.

Music in The Witcher was good, but to be honest I don't remember it at all. That means it could and should be better. And, finally! CDP Red invited very interesting band, which mixes folk and rock music with slavic style.

Last year polish rap producer Donatan invited most popular rappers and they created an album where "guys from the street" are talking about slavic spirit and how it's related to modern style of life. Also Percival band was invited, and I'm quite sure they did a lot to the final effect (maybe even they did the best job). You could try it right here:

(there's more at youtube and there are also instrumental versions if you don't care what that guys are talking about [nothing very important])

For me that kind of music served in modern, attractive way is absolutely outstanding. When I watched the trailer of The Witcher 3 for the first time I just knew it's Percival and for the rest of the day I was just looking for a confirmation.

I'm pretty sure that the audio aspects of The Witcher 3 will be absolutely brilliant now. Percival fits perfectly to the universum of The Witcher 3. I just can't wait to hear the full soundtrack :)

Ok, my bad. It's just because sometimes I try to gloss over my words to make point and show some phenomenon.
I know, there is a lot of American RPGs (often with German architecture) and Molyneux with his British-Albion architecture in Fable, but here, in Europe especially, we've got a really huge number of German role playing games and German-stylized games in medieval climate. Most famous are of course Gothic and Drakensang lately, but there is a few more. As far as I know they may be not as popular worldwide, as they are in Europe, so thats why you are so surprised of my (of course) exaggerated statement.

Wait, that isn't 'Tim Follin, Koji Kondo, Nobuo Uematsu, Koichi Sugiyama, Dave Wise, Hirokazu "Hip" Tanaka, Go Ichinose, Hitomi Sato, Junichi Masuda, Morikazu Aoki, Spencer Nilsen, Allister Brimble, and Soyo Oka' to compose mega album for Witcher 3.
Yeah, it's a new quality

Wildly offensive statement towards an outstanding soundtrack. I buy game and movie soundtracks regularly, and the Witcher (especially W2) OST are by far my favorite. If you had said the music in the Witcher 3 was going to be outstanding because Adam Skorupa and Krzysztof Wierzynkiewicz were composing it, then I would be with you, Any other reason and I have no idea what nonsense spouts from yea fingertips.
The first witcher is TERRIBLE! NO PC integration whatsoever.

Oh, you have a first-class system with tons of ram and a descent video card?
Here, have really crappy frame rates.
Here, have a ton of buggy quests.
Here, have missions that can't be completed because of graphical issues.

Terribly optimized.

Loved the second one though.

From this statement I can deduce that you have no taste and know nothing of what you are talking about.

I don't find The Witcher OST bad or average. It's good, it really is. But tbh there's a few more RPG soundtracks (f.e. Baldur's Gate, Fable or even main theme from Dragon Age) witch were engraved in my memory.

There's also no reason to think that Skorupa or Wierzynkiewicz will be put out to pasture. I'm just happy about the possibility of theirs cooperation with Percival. If you claim that The Witcher OST was outstanding - great.

But trust me, The Witcher 3 OST will be so good, that if will break into to videogame music history for decades ;)
I love me some great video game music and I was amazed when I heard *before* the release of The Witcher (the first game) that there's gonna heavy Slavic influences but frankly, the OSTs of both the first Witcher game and the second didn't impress me much and especially the OST of the second game sounds like generic epic fantasy stuff. There's the occasional really good piece but the more original ones sound like stuff that say Matt Uelmen and Jesper Kyd have been doing much earlier.

And as for the stuff those rappers did - it's just really primitive nationalism and an attempt to romanticize their primitive lifestyle and culture by drawing an analogy from their social primitiveness to the seemingly primitive but respected ancestors. A successful but cheap attempt to score both with moronic nationalists and some intellectuals who have a better understanding of Slavic culture than hip-hop. Fan fucking tastic.

But as for the involvement of Percival in Witcher 3 - promising indeed.

What the hell game did you play? TW EE is more polished and less buggy than Witcher 2, by far. And they didn't make concessions to bloody consoles. So while I'm thrilled about the unique Slavic influences, I'll be more thrilled to get a bonafide PC experience this time.

Dude, I've played that game on four different systems over the years, never did I experience any graphical glitches and the first graphics card I played it on right after release was a GeForce 8600 and it ran fine, I only had to turn off the blurr effects or something (which look like ass in that game anyway).

Also what the hell is "NO PC intergration" supposed to mean?
