michaelleung: Nine Inch Nails > The Beatles > Coldplay > U2 > Snow Patrol > David Byrne > Muse
That's how I see it.

Nine Inch Nails over The Beatles? Seriously?
avatar
michaelleung: Ah, experimental music. The horrors that ensue afterwards.

David Byrne is not a horror.

Yeah. Industrial rock is teh awesum.

Navagon: Completely agreed on NIN. Although Trent did go through a bit of a crappy period. They're back now.

Well, back other than the fact that they are done. They are on their last tour. And Trent Reznor sounds quite serious about the fact that he's done.

They will be done only as long as Trent has money. Pink Floyd were done, The Who were done, Spinal Tap were done...
edit oh yeah the best example. Richard Ashcroft was done with The Verve. Then his solo career never took off and they are back being best friends again.

Firstly, it wouldn't be the first time that's been said. Secondly, it's in order to start up a new project. So even if that's the case, it will mostly just amount to a change of sound. Which won't necessarily be such a bad thing.

In that case we'd have to put:
Johnny Cash > Nine Inch Nails > The Beatles > Coldplay > U2 > Snow Patrol > David Byrne > Muse

NO! NOT JOHNNY CASH!
Wait, NIN did actually do a cover of one of his songs... oh, alright then.

nope, he did a cover of one of theirs.... but he did it so well that everyone thought his was the original... so they all complained when NIN "covered" him. lol.
Hence: Johnny Cash > Nine Inch Nails

PS/ In fact that song (hurt) gets it's lyrics in The Dark Tower, the last book of Stephen King's Gunfighter septology.

I scraped together a bit of cash and bought The Resistance on iTunes. It was a lot different to the old Muse albums (in that it didn't suck), and it's actually pretty good.

Yeah, after listening to it a few more times and seeing them in concert, I think the album isn't half bad. It's really grown on me from before. If you're interested in something a little different, this might be up someone's alley.
