Football is played all over the world but in USA they have some kind of wrestling match over a leather egg, yet they call it "football".
Anyway, even though I'm not much of a sports fan in general, I can understand sports where the team actually scores or does not score, like Hockey, Football (the real one) or Basketball and such. I don't have that much understanding for the american "football" and baseball though, it just seems like a confusing runaround for no apparent reason.

Don't laugh. Condemning someone for using the nick 'Judas' is just the sort of nut job thing she'd do.

They should make Murica football players wear spiked armor and name Murica football Blood Bowl.

The macedonia thing made me laugh WAY too hard.
Funny t hing, with that soccer...
Most Poles love it.
Our prime minister loves it.
Every time a match is played, I hear people singing about it from a local pub long after midnight.
...and we fail \ don't qualify for any serious soccer tournament :)

Even Italianball disappointed this week... I always upvote Polandball.
The occasional good point from Mizz Coulter is usually wrapped inside some stupid rhetoric that causes a collective eyeroll. If she could turn it down a bit, she might start to lose that fringe label. Or not. A zebra can't change its stripes. Sadly, she becomes the face for those who do share some of those good points, and thus they tend to share the label of nutjob.

Been watching my niece's soccer games this year. Gotta say that there is more 'violence' in soccer than in football, more dirty play. Yes, it's a lower level, but for a game that is about moving a ball into a goal using your feet and head, and with just a nutcup (not on my niece's team, obviously) and shin guards for protection, there sure is a huge amount of shoving, tripping, body-checking, etc., especially compared to a game that has that stuff built into it. The parents, fans and teammates are celebrating yellow and red cards, whereas in football the teams and fans are cursing penalties. Fun to watch at that level (pro bores me) but it's still a dirty game.

viperfdl: I'm no soccerfan either. Does this make me an American?
No, that just means you have taste. :-P

She probably is right about immigrants being the main driving force behind soccer's increased popularity in the US. Which is a shame, it used to be practically our national identity to find professional soccer to be a complete waste of time.

I largely agree with you there. I do think she has a point in so far as I believe the change in attitude towards soccer has more to do with immigration than anything else. But, I fail to see any rational connection between people enjoying soccer and moral decay.
