Does anybody have the floppy install disks for DOS 6.22 and / or Windows 3.11 that they could mail me? I just found a (really!) old computer and would like to play around with it like it would have been when it was new :)
Any help would be great!!
Thanks!
Isn't this technically illegal? :p
That being said: If you have a floppy drive, you can find what you need online with minimal searching.
Well I think downloading it from online would be illegal, but if someone just gave it to me, I don't think it would be. Correct me if I'm wrong though :)

There is an easier route for DOS at least - get FreeDOS. An open source DOS project that has most of the functionality of DOS 6.22 with alot of extra stuff that MS should have included in 6.22.
Win 3.1 will be the sticker - hard to find now-adays, people who have it are likely not to want to part with it... since they still have it :p
Would FreeDOS work? I can't find any info on whether or not it works with ancient computers.
I am disappointed in GOG's Win3.1 compatibility. I have yet to find a single game here that works, even on my cutting edge Pentium Mmx. Most of the website doesn't work and the downloader won't even initialize. Shoddy work GOG, I am not impressed.

LOL!!!!
And I've looked at FreeDOS but I'd really like to be "authentic" lol :)
FreeDOS worked wonders for me on an old laptop. I could never get my old copy of Windows 3.11 to run on it, but I learned a lot about the command prompt and got to enjoy my older games again.

No, it is you, the windows three elevens beggars that are ruinning it for everyone and holding back out technological advancement. If it havent been for your kind and your petty squabbling, we would have already found the cure for common trojan, and don't get me started on the console systems outbreak. Scandalous, really.

I fear change!

Me too. But I take that fear and turn it into heroin addiction. That leads me into shady deals, drug trafficking and illegal swiss banking. From that I derive the purchasing power and new PCs. Now go out there and get some needle marks!
Go ahead, I'll wait.

I completely understand, I too prefer banknotes and plastic cards.
Psst, I've got a time machine. Meet me out back.
