It seems most historical movies are either extremely generous towards famous dead people or extremely cruel to famous dead people. For example, the movie Braveheart makes Robert The Bruce look like shit but in real life, he was more bad ass than William Wallace and never back stabbed anyone. The movie is extremely cruel to Robert The Bruce. The average person in this world, can't separate movies from real life so now because of this movie, most people think Robert The Bruce is a shit bag. This kind of BS, makes me never want to be famous because no matter what I do, after I'm dead, a movie can come out and totally destroy all that I was in the eyes of the world. All it takes is one movie(unless the movie really sucks).

300 made the Persians look like an immoral decadent peoples but in real life, the Persians were not like this. And in real life, Spartans raped little boys and their society was okay with this. The movie also made Athenians look bad. In the movie, Leonidas called the Athenians "boy lovers" and this is not true. Athenians were mostly women lovers and not like the Spartans, who were mostly boy lovers. The Athenians were a lot more civilized than the Spartans. If I built a time machine, I'd be afraid to go to Ancient Sparta.

300 is one of the most fascistic American movies I've ever seen, and as for Braveheart: it's rubbish. 14th C. Scots didn't run around painted head to toe in blue woad...and Wallace's victory at Stirling Bridge actually involved a bridge. Just crap,

My wife saw the movies in reverse order from TV. There's something to be said about a parody destroying the original movie... Then again, she didn't get some of the "jokes" until seeing the original afterwards.

The whole American Idol/Kick them in the Pit joke went on for too long. After a point, this didn't feel so much a parody of 300, but a reel of pop culture references. You could call it Pop Culture References: The Movie and none would complain that its title was misleading.

I'll mention here also all the Bruce Lee biography movies. I'm pretty sure they are giving quite a polished picture of an overly complex and controversial person.

That's true too. I didn't even recognize many of the parody characters, like that singer who kept saying "I'm not gay" or somesuch. I guess I don't watch enough American Idol.

That reminds me that South Park episodes and movies probably age quite badly in a decade or two, as they make so many contemporary pop culture references. Simpsons and such, less so.

I liked how the Persians were portrayed as being a licentious mob that engaged in relentless sessions of debauchery. Now, if only I had a time machine...:sigh:..also, back then you could do it raw; for the most part.

The way I see it, the greeks ruined history by refusing to be part of a rich, vibrant culture.
