Worst game. Greatest game story.

Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie, a Cinemassacre-made and Devolver-published action-mockumentary following the angriest retro video game reviewer on his investigation of a game so terrible it had to be buried in a landfill, is available for only $7.99 on GOG.com.

Based on the hit web series of the same name, the science fiction/adventure/comedy, Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie, follows a disgruntled gamer who must overcome his fear of the worst video game of all time in order to save his fans. Hilarity ensues as a simple road trip becomes an extravagant pursuit of the unexpected. The film is low budget and independent, made without any major studio involvement, completely fan-funded. This is a movie made by fans, for fans.

He's gonna take you back to the past, and other fun places, too! Get James Rolfe's feature-length Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie for only $7.99 on GOG.com!
I'll happily buy this as long as soon as the game loses it's DRM and arrives here.
There it is! Apparently a mediocre movie but I'd say a win for GOG in helping build an interesting catalog of movies.

I do wish GOG had done an interview with James to celebrate this, though.

I was wondering if this one would end up here. :D

Heard it's pretty bad too. Watched a couple of his vids, not extraordinary.

But hey, nice to see that kind of movie here. :)
You would think that they would do a cross-promotion between the game and movie. GOG needs more marketers. :P

Still, buying it here since I am a fan of AVGN.
I knew this would be here sooner or later :p. But only 720p? Mmmmm, I may buy the blu ray instead.
Not sure about this one, but indie movie releases are just as good to see as indie games themselves. So bravo for that!

The news post on the main page for GOG.com however has broken links, instead of http://www.gog.com/movie/angry_video_game_nerd_the_movie as the first post in the comment thread has, the news post links are just pointing back to itself instead of to the movie page as it uses the address http://www.gog.com/news/movie_release_angry_video_game_nerd_the_movie

Edit: Fixed my broken link of the incorrect if not actually broken link.

We're working on getting the 1080p version out to everyone as we speak :)
Nice, I did enjoy this in all it's silly glory. Though it seems a lot of people expected waaay too much from this movie which is a shame.

Everything about it felt cheap and unnecessary. It should have been about James, Mike, and Guitar Guy finding the ruins of LJN or something.
Cool! This might be my first movie purchase on GOG.
Nostalgia Critic is not amused!
Any chance we can get The Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures on GOG as well?

I suspect that's because it was cheap!
Cool! This has got to be the one movie I actually wanted to see on the site! Thx, GOG. :)
