Worst game. Greatest game story.

Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie, a Cinemassacre-made and Devolver-published action-mockumentary following the angriest retro video game reviewer on his investigation of a game so terrible it had to be buried in a landfill, is available for only $7.99 on GOG.com.

Based on the hit web series of the same name, the science fiction/adventure/comedy, Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie, follows a disgruntled gamer who must overcome his fear of the worst video game of all time in order to save his fans. Hilarity ensues as a simple road trip becomes an extravagant pursuit of the unexpected. The film is low budget and independent, made without any major studio involvement, completely fan-funded. This is a movie made by fans, for fans.

He's gonna take you back to the past, and other fun places, too! Get James Rolfe's feature-length Angry Video Game Nerd: The Movie for only $7.99 on GOG.com!
Interesting, but I prefer my AVGN in short doses.
Well, it's one of the highest-rated films on the wishlist for some inexplicable reason, so this is bound to make some people happy. I say good for them.

We have the movie, but where is AVGN Adventures: The Video Game?
Thank you a lot dear GOG team!
I have been looking forward to watching this movie but I was afraid that it might be difficult to obtain it since I do not live in the US. So I am even more happy to get it on a platform that I like and trust and which is very uncomplicated to use.

I know that James put a lot of effort into realizing his dream of making a movie of this scale. His videoss about the progress of the movie during the many months before the film was finally finished were really interesting and you could tell how much this project meant to him and how dedicated he was to it.
So alone for that reason it is well worth the purchase for me regardless of how much I will actually enjoy the movie itself.
well done
Pleased to see this movie make its way to GOG. Was interested in checking it out

JudasIscariot: We're working on getting the 1080p version out to everyone as we speak :)
Can you please adopt .MKV + (hevc) + subtitles for movies?
Even Microsoft finally acknowledged its importance in the next Windows version..

We would but we found it's not as compatible across a wide variety of devices as the MP4 format. Besides, it's still just a container like an MP4 and you can have subs already added to the MP4 without having to muck about with .srt files.
I already couldn't stand his little skits in his AVGN show, no way I'm going to watch an entire movie of it. That's the thing I don't understand with these internet "critics", they have a perfectly good thing, but for some reason that's not enough for them, so they constantly keep injecting awful storylines and cringeworthy acting (not even the "it's so bad it's good" kind).

Just look at the Nostalgia Critic, he had a good show, but then he kept adding more and more crap on it and doing crossovers with the other TGWTG people no one cared about. Eventually, he cancelled the NC, hired some people under contract and made a new show that failed so hard he had to bring back the NC. But we couldn't just go back to good old NC, this new NC has now his own cast, a cringeworthy intro to stroke Doug's ego (seriously, what's with the gun?) and every dam episode has its own storyline.

At least when James Rolfe was done with the Nerd he knew when to stop and simply let the series retire gracefully.

The movie was crowdfunded so there was also a certain demand for it and he still does episodes. o_o

So I guess you are not a fan of Linkara either :P

I mention him because he's gonna release an Indiegogo campaign for an AT4W movie soon, probably this month. I'm confident we'll see it on GOG in the distant future. It's the kind of films GOG can get at this point (and in the mid-term too), crowd-funded and produced by internet personalities or independent studios.
I might actually get this, but I wish you guys got the game as well.

I reckon that's going to be pretty painful. I used to like Linkara, but recently, his videos were pretty boring.

Apparently, Spoony has announced a movie as well (rather reluctantly, from what I understand)...
I could never understand his popularity. I never found him funny and his acting is terrible, even by internet critic standards. And that means comparing him not only to guys like Spoony and the Cinema Snob, who can actually act, and are tallented comedians (and I don't personally like CInema Snob's show much), but even Nostalgia Chick and (shudder) Film Brain. Can't imagine watching an entire movie with AVGN.

The only thing I respect about Linkara is that he releases videos on a regular schedule, rather than once in a hundred years. I did not know of the AT4W movie, but I do know Spoony is going to make his own movie. We're about to reach critical mass of ego inflation.

EDIT: Speaking of Linkara...

It hurts.

He makes episodes un an irregular basis when he feels like it, so I don't count that. It's OK though, every show has to end eventually and people eventually reach the point where they don't want to be talking about "sucking buffalo ass" anymore.
