Given the choice between a Mount or a Blade, which would you pick?

I bought Mount & Blade in the bundlestars bundle, and after reading up on using it with wine, I discovered that there is a Linux port to Warband. I'm a big sucker for developers who port games to Linux, so $5 later, I have warband as well as Mount & Blade. I don't need both. I've seen some arguments that it is worth it to have both because of all the mod's available for Mount & Blade, but I just don't see myself having the time to play both. Honestly, I don't really have time to play either one.

Mount and Blade is fantastic, I play just vanilla Mount and Blade and I never tire of it. If I start playing it again, any progress in other games just freeze. That said, blade, preferably a claymore.

It depends, If I'm about to go to a war then blade is the best choice while others maybe mount is more appropriate.
If it is to choosing either one in M&B then I choose blade.

Assuming I also get the skills to use it: a blade. However, a mythical mount like a dragon or something similar would be even better than a blade :D

I haven't played Warband, but it also adds a faction, expands the map and changes up the landscape and adds other features like marriage for instance.

Actually theres a lot more than that (a lot of which was pretty much "inspired" by the mods for the original mount & blade) - just so you know.

Both games are awesome though - and the mods for either will keep you going for ages.

AVOID "With Fire & Sword" though people - utter trash!

For me, the biggest thing that Warband adds, and the reason for my purchase, is official Linux support (currently beta).

I presume Bannerlord will add full support then.
No idea if that gonna be any good though - F&S was (as I said) trash, and I didnt hear much goog about the napoleon expansion either.
Will hope it will be though - a lot of potential in the games as the mods show.

With just a blind choice and no clue what anything else is... I'd go with mount. I may be stranded somewhere, or miles away from where I need to be, A blade is really only worth having if I'm being forces to defend myself, outside of that, it's just extra dead weight. And even were I in a situation where I NEEDED neither, a mount should be easier to sell.

I choose a mount, because a mount is more useful than a blade.
Indeed, you can defeat your foe by crushing him under your horse, but you can't mount to a blade !

I'm in +1 I would choose a blade over a mount. You can always stab some bastard in the neck and take his mount.
