+1 for the giveaway of a truly gOg-worthy title. Instabuy for a fair percentage of the members here were it to appear in the catalog...

Not in.

Definitely mount. I could fashion a blade or some other object as a weapon and/or tool. However, I could not likely fashion a mount.

I bought Mount & Blade in the bundlestars bundle, and after reading up on using it with wine, I discovered that there is a Linux port to Warband. I'm a big sucker for developers who port games to Linux, so $5 later, I have warband as well as Mount & Blade. I don't need both. I've seen some arguments that it is worth it to have both because of all the mod's available for Mount & Blade, but I just don't see myself having the time to play both. Honestly, I don't really have time to play either one.

The giveaway is for Mount & Blade on steam. I'll PM the code after the giveaway.

With just a blind choice and no clue what anything else is... I'd go with mount. I may be stranded somewhere, or miles away from where I need to be, A blade is really only worth having if I'm being forces to defend myself, outside of that, it's just extra dead weight. And even were I in a situation where I NEEDED neither, a mount should be easier to sell.
+1 for this giveaway which will hopefully encourage more people to then get the superior sequel Warband. Since I own the series I'll be in Cyberevil.

My knee-jerk response is "Mount" because you can use almost anything as a weapon. However if, say, it was a choice between a swaybacked mule and a Toledo Steel greatsword then my choice would be the latter.

I'm more than certain Alexander wasn't that reliant on cavalry archers. As a matter of fact, 50% of his army were infantry men. The reason he conquered so much in such little time is because of the Macedon Falanx which is basically infantry men that create a huge tide of spears, and not cavalry archers. Plus, I just said Persian's could easily darken the sky with arrows. What chance does any cavalry have? In a situation like this you have very limited escape options and the most viable one is a lot of shields in Turtle formation.
