Curious since the only D&D I've played are just the cRPGs not the D&D tabletop sessions. I'm guessing beings like The Lady of Pain, Demogorgon, Vecna, Tarrasque, etc

Not sure about the gods and goddesses other than the ones that you choose to align to in the cRPGs. Is there a supreme deity or something? Or a supreme demon higher than Demogorgon?

They just remind me of the Lady of Pain, hehe:

In general I'd have to say Dragons are always up there.
Surely a Dracolich trumps them then. ;-)
The DM
In AD&D Forgotten Realms there is a supreme god known as Ao (Lampooned in Discworld as Blind Io). The rest of them are all on equivalent power levels which wax and wane depending on events in the novels and rulebooks.

Arguably one of the most powerful is the Dark Elf goddess Lloth as unlike other gods she is the same in all the different campaign settings, there is only one Lloth as it were.

Wow, he has a Master?

"Despite his own absolute sovereignty over the cosmos of Toril, it is implied that he himself serves an even greater and more mysterious entity, whom he addresses only as 'Master'."

+1 to that, if not counting gods..
the next one, I would say, would be Demilich.

granny: Agreed.
Always suspected that little bastard of being the true evil manipulating everything from behind the scenes in that program.

And just read that Tyr is dead, what the fuck? That's just downright stupid!

the Tarrasque in AD&D is stupidly powerful, but i'd still say... Elminster of Shadowdale (if we're not counting deities XD)

In D&D 3.5 the Tarrasque is actually kinda shit, a good party around level 10-12 should be easily able to beat it. The only problem is having to cast Wish to make it stay dead ^^
Anyway, I'd say that the Prismatic Dragon is the most powerful being in 3.5 (again, not counting deities)

And we ignore "4th edition" for obvious reasons, haha.

Anyone who prefers 3.5 to 4ed was never a fan of first edition (or probably second). 4th actually plays well, unlike 3.5 which typically involves no role playing, rules lawyering for about 3 hours, and another 4 hours to fight that party of goblins.

4th ed Forgotten Realms is shit, though, I'll give you that.
