Don't take me wrong guys I played both and for me SCC has a greater value than DXHR,
I played and finished DXHR and it is a very good game in it's own right...
In the end both SCC and DXHR are dwarfed when compared to Rainbow Six Vegas 2,
But... am I not comparing apples to oranges?

As a final note.... I can only offer two words and one number: System Shock 2...

nagytow: No such thing as an overrated game. The fact that you don't like it or don't get it doesn't mean the game with millions fans is overrated. You are not a target of that game, simple as that.

hedwards: It's overrated, their target audience was the professional esport market, anybody else is just icing on the cake. I could be misremembering, but I'm pretty sure that Blizzard made a really big deal out of balancing the game specifically for esports.
They did, at one point the devs specifically admitted that they had made game design choices that "weren't fun" in favor of making the esport more viable.

Err.. What is SCC? Splinter cell conviction? Before Sam Fisher (propably), in ps1 there was syphon filter, which was a great game.
DE:HR could have been better (a bit more interactive world) but with these trends, it deserved my money and IMO is one of the best games I've played in years. DLC is a bit too expensive though.

Halo tops the list. I'm a veteran and a former soldier; the equipment in Halo would have never seen field service; the pistol is underpowered, the main combat rifle is inaccurate and the warhog handles so poorly that it can't even turn without spinning out.

Metal Gear/Modern Warfar/any other war shooter series: I don't understand the worship of war (don't harp on the "anti-war" message of Metal Gear, hard to see through that after you've massacred your 100th enemy sqad).

Any Zelda game. sure the first one was pretty fun, but I can't stand the repetition of those games. it's the same story with different window dressing and the public just ate them up.

Any EA Sports Game. Not so much for the games themselves, which are well put together and deliver a solid performance in their limited way. No, I'm talking about 60.00 for a new game that is basically a 9.99 DLC.

There are more, but just thinking about the subject makes me Mad.

Joppelarius: considering Diablo/TQ/Torchligt/Fate/Nox.... what did you guys think of Deathspank? I didn't like it but it I guess it can't be classified as overrated 'cuz there wasn't that much noise about it in the first place.
Query: Is it just Action RPGs in general you dislike or these in particular, since you seem to have hit upon all the ones that anyone actually really knows about and that were financially successful.

I'm not trying to be snotty, just curious due to the very specific list.

I've been in the army too but I didn't expect halo to be realistic with those weapons, I mean there were those little bastard aliens are like from a cartoons after all. It was a good game. But it is a bit overrated and halo 2 in pc, that was total crap. I just hated it.

I played Halo because I don't like realistic shooters, but how am I supposed to buy the fiction of the story; that the humans have actually survived and thrived in space when their equipment sucks harder than a hooker when the rent's due?
