Super Mario Galaxy. In fact, the Wii in general. What a pile of toss.
Every Sonic game after Sonic3.
Doom 3, Starfox Adventures.

lolplatypus: The Gamecube in general
I don't buy games that often and when I buy a console, it's usually a used one, so I'm starting out quite a bit into the console's lifespan in general. This was the first time I found no interesting games on my current system. And roughly half of the games I actually bought were kinda disappointing to begin with.
The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time
Only played Link's Awakening before and loved it. Since it's usually regarded as one of the weaker Zeldas, while OoT dominates Top 10 lists all around the world, needless to say, there was minor excitement involved. I'm obviously in the minority, so maybe I just have bad taste, but it turned out to be one of the worst games I've ever played. If we leave out games, that are actually broken and unplayable, and just focus on stuff like story and design, it easily falls all the way to the bottom.

1.Gamecube bad?! What games were you playing?! There are plenty of good ones to keep you occupied. Super Mario sunshine, Pikmin 1/2, Metroid prime 1/2, Killer 7, Tales of Symphonia, Baitos kaos, Luigi's mansion, Resident evil series, etc.
2.WTF?! Oot is not my favorite but it's still a good game in all area's compared to some that I have played. It's not traditional story telling but that does not make it bad. If it's not your thing then fine, but to say it's the worst thing you have ever played says to me that you have not played much in your life. I know that's harsh but seriously; there are games that are so much worse the the Zelda series.

Super Mario galaxy !? Please explain!
Your disappointed with the Wii? Once again I have to ask what you are playing. There is: the conduit, Resident evil 4, okami, Baroque, Excite bots, de blob, Tomb Raider Anniversary, opoona, elebits, Red Steel, Super smash bros: Brawl, Mario strikers charged, Mario kart Wii, Wii sports resort, etc. Plus there is more coming out: Cursed mountain, Murasame, Metroid prime trilogy, Juno: the grudge, Mini ninja's, Valhalla Knights: Eldar Saga, spyborgs, Red steel 2, Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter, etc. There are plenty of games out there for the Wii, you just have to look.

One of my many disappointments has been the fact that there hasn't been a decent hacking simulation since Uplink...I tried the rest but I always came back to the best.
Most disappointing gaming moments which I remeber:
Homeworld 2 outro and feeling that it game just ended when there was so many more possiblities in it...
I was also disappointed about S.P.E.C.I.A.L. in Fallout 3. Why only 20 level max and reaching it was too easy. I had it in about middle of game, maybe half of lactions found and adter reaching it i completely lost mood for playing it more... I felt quite similiar about Fallout 1 first time, but of course not so strong.
Mass Effect. Pretty much disappointing side quest and 'simple' locations boundede with them. Locations look like mad from few same piecies and almost each of them can be desribed in same way: "corridor, next room full of enemies, antother corridor and room with thing you looked for"...
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky ending. After so great (in quality and number of them) possible endings, finel encounter and ending of Clear Sky was very disappointing...
Mostly Oblivion (soulless game... Morrowind was so much better) and Bioshock (pretty, but bland). ArmA 1 was somewhat disappointing too, specially after the flawed gem that is Operation Flashpoint.
But my biggest disappointment is probably Rise of the Robots. I wanted it to be good. Oh boy, was I wrong.

While most would disagree, I'm with you. I've never been a big fan of Ocarina of Time and I feel that Link's Awakening has one of the tightest, most rewarding stories of all the Zelda games.
Fallout 3 and Halo 2 rank among my most disappointing games, especially considering the over zealous hype and poor quality of both games.
Also I found Splinter Cell Double Agent to be a disappointment after Chaos Theory. They've been named numerous times already, but Hellgate: London and Oblivion also warrant another mention.

sheepdragon: I think the first time, at least in my case, I was baffled by the very setting, which sort of managed to overshadow this. I also played on a lower difficulty, where some of the flaws were not as apparent, and since I pretty much had the plot and the backstory out of the way, I could concentrate a lot more on the gameplay, which made the faults a lot more apparent.

But don't the setting, atmosphere and backstory contribute to the game as much as the gameplay?
I think i'd be hard pressed to call a game disappointing if the setting and atmosphere was enough to make me overlook a number of gameplay faults. Be like being disappointed by the godfather because the 2nd time you watched it you discounted Al Pacino's performance and just focused on the action ;-)

What version of Halo 2, the PC one? I didn't see anything really low quality in the xbox version

Again which version? The PC/Xbox 360 version was radically different and distinctly inferior to the original Xbox version which felt a lot more like Chaos Theory
Gears of War with it's stale, bland and repetative gameplay. With the exception of a few baddie bosses and using the hammer of Dawn, the whole thing was simply hide behind a wall, shoot a few enemies 50 times each, move forward 10 yards, do the same thing again and again, oh and occasionally flank a mounted machine gunner, wow great. Shame as it had a lot of potential, i never bothered with 2nd one because of this.

For me it was when I played Final Fantasy VII and finally got final showdown with Sephiroth. When the match started I realized that for some reason Cloud's best Limit strike had materialized when I had not got it before. I clicked it and couple of animations later I had beat the game.
I had literally waited for half the game to finally test if Sephiroth was as bad as he was portrayed but then I only hadd to use one skill which was given to me for the last battle and even the limit break meter was filled for me.
Talking about anticlimatic...
constantine
mouse didn't work + it was keyboard only , they've never fixed it.
I felt like shooting demons and after painkiller this was a big disappointment.
I posted the game back to the headoffices and stuffed about 3 kilo's of waste in it. On the box i mentioned breakable.
I wonder how they looked receiving their disk in 4 equal parts and paying for the transport costs ;)

It's only a plot fight; The real final boss is Safer Sephiroth. Same thing with Final Fantasy X final boss and a buttload of other games' final bosses.

They act like spices that can add a lot of flavour to the main dish and greatly enhance its overall quality if well balanced. But if your main dish is shit, you may cover up the taste with a lot of spices, but in the end it will still be shit and taste like that.

Witnessing the graphics of the Zelda Windwaker game.
I couldnt get into it and finally left the series that I had been following since the 80s behind.
All right. Why is everyone hating on Oblivion and Fallout 3? If you go into a game with high hopes, then it is gonna suck. I am easy to please and I just liked the fact Oblivion and Fallout 3 changed combat styles to make it less frustrating. If you hate the game so much, mod the fuck out of it.
Oh, and Splinter Cell. I love the series, but the first one's AI was just awful.
