Some people might consider it disappointing (I personally loved it)...

The ending to the online flash game Wink. :)
broken sword 4 comes to mind
I don't know about worst EVA, because at least you got some kind of animation but the end of Monkey Island 2 was pretty odd - Guybrush and Le Chuck turn out to be brothers...and are amall boys...at the carnival!
One of those ending that following games in the series had to ignore too, which is never satisfying!
Freelancer...Galactic vacuum cleaner, jeez.

Lobsang1979: Neverwinter Nights 2: You are a hero, well done. Now the roof caves in and rocks fall on you head. The End.

I am seriously not joking about that.
Way to Rip off Lands of Lore 3.

my personal biggest dissapointment would be Fallout New Vegas, yes even more than Fallout 3. It was just a list of events read by VAs that just wanted a paycheck.
I played many games in my life but encountered the worst ending ever only recently when finished Kane & Lynch 2. Come on! You must be kidding me... it's not even an ending, it's like a silent f-word in the face... I still can't believe it really happened.

About Fahrenheit, the ending is not so bad, the last parts of gameplay are.

jefequeso: My vote goes to Chasm: The Rift. Not only did it end on an unforgivable cliffhanger, but the cliffhanger itself was just a bunch of on-screen text. No prompting to go back to the main menu, no "To be continued...". Nothing. You just had to quit the game from the pause screen.

Let's hear 'em, guys.
The ending is not so bad if compared to Quake 1.
The game is very atmospheric and fun playing, its main goal was to be like another good Quake 1 clone, but in not so well developed 3d environment.

wormholewizards: Fahrenheit
Forgot about this and its Matrix style fights at the end. and out of nowhere villains. someone said (here on gog) that mid half of the game was cut which would shed some light on wtf was happening but not only the gameplay was shit at the end but story confused me greatly.

Also
Dreamfall. Cause there is no friggign Dreamfall two. and I loved dreamfall.

No, this thread is about game endings.

The vanilla game never took itself seriously. The snarkiness was so thick you could coat your weapons with it and use it as poison. Fortunately Mask of the Betrayer had a much better ending, although finding out what happened when the rocks fell at the end of the original game by way of a small, unvoiced sidequest was certainly odd.
Blue's ending in SaGa Frontier.

Screen fades out in the middle of the final boss battle without anything being resolved and returns to the title screen.

The context in the supplemental material explains it and makes it a bit more interesting and complete from a karmic point of view, but it's still incredibly frustrating as it's presented in the game and stands out as one of the more blatantly unfinished/rushed parts of the game.

Red_Avatar: Just about every console game of the 80s. They were nail-hard and if you ever did beat one, you were treated to some crappy "congratulations, you beat the game" screen with a small picture. Whatever you may say, it still beats any ending like that of Fallout 3.

How so? at least you still get some dialogue and a pretty epic scene (at least with the No Gods, No masters ending) before the "event list", and isn't that how every fallout game ended until now?

Drakan, Order of the Flame.

Don't remember much about the story, but I think you spend all game long looking for this kid who was kidnapped by a demon or some such and when you find him, he falls into a pit, and while he's falling you hear a maniacal laughter (not coming from him) and... that's it. He continues to fall, never making it to the bottom and you feel like the laughter is mocking you. To be continued.

The worst part is the sequel was never made for the PC, just for consoles. I never found out how the whole thing really ended, but that's a sucky, zero satisfaction ending right there.

Found a video of it.

Don't get me wrong. I liked it. It was the first FPS I ever bought for myself (used for $16 on Amazon), and I still love the enemy designs and cool atmosphere. The engine was awful, though, and it wasn't quite as smooth or visceral as Quake.
Personally, Call of Duty 2 was anticlimax. The last stage wasn´t that good (specially after doing the two previous ones), no kind of final boss, and it doesn´t feel like the war is over... I would have prefered the game to end on the previous level, seriously.
