Ballistic_Peanut: Disappointed the hell out of me

That and seeing The Good Guys get cancelled
Cancelling The Good Guys is a travesty of programming, almost as bad as losing Firefly before it really got started. We're also going to miss Human Target. Good, cheesy fun that show was.

I'm seeing a pattern: Fox is pissing me off on a regular basis, to make room for shit like Gordon Ramsay yelling at people over FOOD, ferchrissakes. I wish they would at least continue these shows on FX. At least they have Justified over there, one of the better shows in a long time. Speaking of FX, Wilfred is awfully damn funny, but they also managed to yank Terriers after one short season. Damn you, Fox! I swear, it's a love-hate with that network.

I don't watch shows on Fox anymore for that reason. I remember seeing a top 10 list of shows that were canceled before their time, and Fox had like 7 of the 10.

Networks really ought to guarantee shows a full season. I can only imagine how much money it costs them to produce 4 episodes that end up going nowhere because the audience hasn't had a chance to see a full season.

Oh man, I loved Human target!

Overall, there's too much of this damn reality drama bullshit, it wasn't enough that these types of shows got their own outlets, their own channels but now everywhere else you have these reality >insert occupation< shows next to talent shows with plenty of drama.

Can't seem to escape that crap too. For instance today, went out for breakfast, TV in the corner blaring a programming ad: "We have more drama! More conflict! More reality!"
Nearly lost my appetite thinking about how this garbage has seriously become the latest appeal. Makes no damn sense to me.
I am willing to give the new thing of bevis and butthead a try from the little of what i have seen it looks good comming from mike judge.

There's a new one? I'll give it a try too, but I don't expect much given that it went down hill significantly after they were sued for some kid imitating things from the show.

Delixe: Trailer
I take it back, that looks promising.
I know Fall's almost over, but still relevant: new episode of Leverage in less than a week!!!!!!

Also, is Terra Nova any good? Judging from the trailer and previews, the acting looks like arse, but maybe someone here has a second opinion against that.

Ugh... I only managed to watch first 4 episodes.

This show is nothing it promised to be. It's not epic (rather cheap, many locations are some underground bases rather than wide opened jungle), has not signifficant amount of dinosaurs as well as A STORY.

From first 4 episodes you get no info about terra nova's goals. It's rather some random missions or "how do modern people manage to live in prehistoric era (lame explanations mostly)

I can't recommend that crap. But that's only 4 episodes, maybe next were better.

oh, and totally indifferent, dull, boring characters. I mean ALL OF THEM.

In addition to what's already posted - 'Breaking Bad', 'Dexter', 'Game of Thrones', 'Supernatural' etc - I'd recommend checking out 'Haven' (based on Stephen King's 'The Colorado Kid') and 'Misfits' (british, currently in its 3rd season, one of my favourite shows).

The Walking Dead has been a major disappointment so far this season. Who are they targeting? Too much crying and "drama" for most men, and too much splatter for most women (I haven't even bothered telling my better half about this show as she didn't enjoy 'Shaun of the dead' at all because of the zombies.. However, she loves 'True Blood' so maybe all the crying and shit will somehow counter the crushing of zombie skulls and what not? I don't know..)

'Sanctuary' on the other hand, has improved noticably this season (up to somewhat above average), as have 'Nikita' and 'Merlin' - to a lesser degree (still not sure if I really like the latter or not, though).

Fiction aside, I'd also recommend the more realistic shows 'An Idiot Abroad' (see the world through the eyes of Karl Pilkington) and of course 'Top Gear' (if you don't like cars, watch the specials).

Anything you find exciting so far?

For me it's RevolutiON from NBC:

The main problem is, it's NBC. So it's likely they will cancel it the first opportunity they get.
Revolution throws up a lot of red flags. Not many of the "Obviously trying to capture the Lost audience" serialized sci-fi stuff has been any good. Largely unknown/mediocre looking cast besides Giancarlo Esposito (who is fantastic). Dull "Gotta save mah family" setup (which a lot of these shows tend to have and they almost always drag the cool concept down).

NBC doesn't cancel stuff that fast, at least compared to say Fox or CBS. They are so far behind in the ratings shows like Chuck and Community make it far further along than they would on other networks.

Isn't that J.J Abrams? The person that's a bigger tease than a schoolgirl?

Abrams rarely has anything to do with the shows he is attached to. He gets them off the ground by throwing his name around, but that's about it.
