keeveek: How do you feel about Awake's ending?

SPOILERS

Do you think he finally woken up, or as in Inception - he just went deeper?
SPOILER

I think he went deeper because right after he thought about the possibility of another world, he was in it. And he didn't wake up into it either. But that does not mean that reality is very different from that world.

Tarm: Interesting. So would you say it's worth it to watch the show and still not feeling like there are too many nagging unanswered questions at the end?

Thinking about getting the whole show and watch it.
avatar
fursav: Yeah I think you should watch the whole show. The ending wraps up the big conspiracy of the season but does not reveal the true condition of the protagonist. However, just like in Inception it gives you enough information to make you think you know the truth.

Also, besides the premise, the acting is the main reason the show is so great.

Edit: The show does reveal a lot of the conspiracy in the first half of the season to the viewer but not to the characters. So for a couple of episodes, you'll be watching the protagonist figure out what you probably already know but that does not make the show any less worth watching.
Sounds good. I'll put it in my DVD wishlist and get it when the DVD box is released.

Lone3wolf: Falling Skies:Season 2 starts in but a few weeks!

Rewatching Season 1 at the moment :D
How is Falling Skies now? I watched a couple episodes but it was too much soap for me. Is it still like that?

SPOILERS CONTINUE

Yeah, just like he said "it doesn't matter" if either of his realities were real. It only matters they felt completely real to him , so he didn't need to know - he just wanted to be with his family again.
We got hooked on Grimm (NBC) and are anxiously awaiting the second season coming this fall.

The 5th and final season of Breaking Bad. not sure when it starts but I have to catch up before it does.
I'm looking forward to the fall premiere and fall cancellation of Elementary (CBS).

But in happier news, The Thick of It is back on BBC2 this year. With a very angry Malcolm Tucker in opposition, I'm guessing.

Can we place bets on it's cancellation date? I go for episode 4...

I will say episode 3, because usually shows like this will be so terrible they wouldn't even let it last for a whole month. Oh boy I can't wait.

Dunno. Still not restarted yet :P couple weeks to go. 13 days.
Hah I love this thread. It's supposed to be about highly anticipated TV shows to be released during one out of four seasons in 2011, and we end up talking about all kinds of shows anyway.

(very mild spoilers)

Anyway I've been watching some True Blood lately, and wow. It's a very good show, much to my disbelief that any vampire show released on TV can ever break out of the "WE R TEH EMO" mold. They really need to lay off the softcore porn scenes though. The story is pretty well-written, even if the social commentary starts to die down after season 2, but I'm finding it annoying that for every 15 minutes of nail-biting scenes, there will be a 5-minute interlude of sex scenes complete with nudity. Also, everyone has sex with everyone. Seriously, I know we're living in an age of liberal rights, but whoa, lay off the libido-enhancing drugs, Bon Temps!

But yeah other than that, the show paces itself very nicely, and the cast of characters is great and memorable (especially Pam and Lafayette)... with the exception of Sookie. Fucking Sookie.

Season 5 is great, and I can't wait for the next episode. TBH Season 4 started to wear me down with all the retarded "everyone fornicates like dogs" and other irrelevant subplots halfway through the season, but I'm glad I didn't stop watching, because the show's last 4-5 episodes are really good, and its finale was unexpected, yet satisfying.

I miss Psych and House. :(
I'm looking forward to Person of Interest Season 2. I thought it was going to be a bit too serialized with too many cops involved but a few episodes here and there changing things making it interesting.

That Revolution show has potential but it just reeks of typical world ending doom that the creators don't care why and how and basically waits with those questions (the interesting ones) till the end and you just follow some cliché ridden family.

Anything in the sci-fi department that looks interesting? It's a pity Eureka is ending, I don't think I've any sci-fi shows to watch. :(

EDIT: I've been meaning to watch True Blood but I held off because I didn't think it was going to be story focused but rather focus on how many sex scenes they can fill the show. I think I watched the first 15 episodes, does it get better or? (Story wise and character development)

Yeah you start to learn more about the supporting cast, which is great. Some of the lead characters are also not what they appear to be. I actually don't bother with the sex scenes - when those start, I just alt tab out and surf the net until it's over. It was cool initially, but there are just so many, I became desensitized to them. I think it would actually benefit the show if they'd just trimmed out the sex scenes, because, frankly, they're pointless.

Oh yeah, just downloaded the first 4 episodes of Falling Skies. Looking forward to watching them with my bro when he gets home tonight. Hoorah.
It's time to de_dust this topic!

What are your most anticipated shows of THIS fall?
