I just installed this last night, and holy crap... Now I need to get used to Morrowind's controls again, as I've only tried half-arsed to replay it a few times and was always turned off by the fog and overall buggy nature of the game... I seem to have it running both smoothly and with the Overhaul, and it's freaking gorgeous. Time to spend more sleepless days than I'll admit to re-familiarizing myself with and old favorite home away from home.

BadDecissions: I assume that the "simple thing" is documented somewhere; you have to turn something off so that something won't overwrite something else, or ... something? Been a long time since version 2.

Fenixp: You have to turn Steam overlay off, it doesn't work well with Morrowind Graphics Enhancer
I don't know who else to ask and I do not want to make another Morrowind thread so I have a question:

Since I have the mod I have decided to increase the Draw Distance so I can see more of the land, but it comes at a cost of Framerate, because the game plays as low as 24 FPS in outdoors while 40 something FPS indoors.

My brother told that one way I could increase the FPS without Lowering Draw Distance and graphics quality is to lower the Resolution, My Monitor is a 1080p monitor and the is at 1920 x 1080. What Resolution do you or anyone else would recommend to increase the FPS? Preferatbly something 720p or even 480p.
Alright, cool, looks like I might finally finish Morrowind.

I don't have the mod, but aren't all LCDs very bad with non-default resolutions?
Can't you just lower some graphic enhancement?
In any case, no 480p please..

I play Crysis 1 at 720p in order to play it at Very High Settings with 60 frames.

Anyway if 1920 x 1080 is 1080p, what "Number" x "Number" is equivelant to 720p?

Is this the Steam version? I think disabling Steam overlay helps with increasing FPS.

Other than that, I suggest experimenting- I can't remember what made it look/play nice for me, it's been a while.

Its disabled and the FPS is still not as preferable.

I think 1280 x 720.
Does 720p look good on your 1080p monitor? Lower resolutions are terrible on mine.

Like I said I played Crysis 1 at a similar 720p Resolution and despite some screen tearing (unoticalbe if you ignore it) it looks fine, it looks clear, the FOV is good enough for PC.
1280*720 should get you a decent boost in performance, although you might want to try 1600x900 first to see if it offers a better balance of performance / image quality.

You could also try 1440x810

Well I did it and the framerate is MUCH better. Indoors is perfect 60 style FPS. while Outdoors is a little lower its much faster than it was on 1080p. Though I am erked by the bigger font and somewhat Blurry look, I still prefer it over increadibly low frame rate.

I will keep that in mind.

720p (HD Ready) is 1280x720. I sometimes play with that resolution or 1600x900 to get everything maxed with 60 FPS.

I have the game, but haven't it played with or without that mod, but you should try first with 1600x900 and check the FPS, and if it's not good for you, then you should try 1280x720. You can also check Anti-Aliasing. FXAA 4x should be enough, more than that and it may hit the performance of your card...

How do I know my (nostalgic) love for this game is probably too great?

I haven't (really) played Morrowind since 2006 I never used any mods, and when I look at this overhaul I'm like "Ok, so what's different?!" XD

Except for water, that one is clearly soooo much better looking. :)
