Time for the next surprise in the GOG.com's Holiday Celebrations. We're still working on adding Windows 7 compatibility to some of the games which have some issues with the newest operating system from big M. We're happy to let you know that [url=http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/arcanum_of_steamworks_and_magick_obscura]Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura and Myst: Masterpiece Edition are now fully compatible with both 32 and 64-bit Windows 7. To get the latest, Windows 7 compatible versions of the games, you have to re-download and install them again.

The is our third surprise in GOG.com's Holiday Celebrations. Don't know what we're talking about? For the next two weeks, we're going to reveal a little something for you once a day, until December 14 when we reveal the BIG surprise!

Want more? Check back tomorrow for another GOG holiday surprise!
Only two? I thought there were more games that already unofficially compatible with Win 7?

Btw, you haven't updated the game page. :P

Nice to see that these important things are getting your attention GoG team! we need ALL games to be Windows 7 Compatible!
Well, those are two games that I already play in Windows 7 64-bit :) But it wasn't completely without its problems, so hopefully those have been ironed out now.

Thank you GOG, for putting in continued work in already released titles! I love that.
You should also update the game site to show compability.
Does this mean I should re-download Arcanum?
Well, that is welcome news, and for a few reasons.

First, because I have the games mentioned and have been struggling with them. Now, I can look forward to being able to play them without crashing to desktop or whatever.

Second, because it reaffirms GOG's commitment to its customers. It's nice to know that just because a game is released, it isn't considered "done" until it truly is compatible and all kinks have been worked out.

Third, it reminds us that the GOG staff is still keeping busy. That means there are probably more games in the works, and more publishers being courted. Be persistent, fellas! The gentle dripping of water will wear down the hardest stone, eventually.

Last time I checked, my retail copy of Arcanum worked perfectly on Win 7 64 bit.

But thanks anyway!
So, does this mean you have uploaded new versions of these games and I should re-download them to get these latest versions?
Or does it just mean people on the forums have gotten those games to work on Windows 7 and you're taking credit?
More information is really required when you put out a message like this.
Good to see the compatibility work continues. Hopefully Blood 2, Messiah and Interstate 76 aren't too far down the list.
I just played Arcanum on Win7 64bit a few months ago and didn't notice any issues.

And fixing NWN if it hasn't been done yet

My retail copy works fine. But then they did say they weren't going to label a game Win7 compatible until all issues with all configurations were addressed. In Blood 2's case, that's going to be an epic task.

What's wrong with it?

What about users without Win 7 (XP and Vista)? Do any of the changes you made affect us enough that we should also download and re-install?
