vulchor: Not nearly as fun as Tyrian (which also had one of the best sound tracks) but still fun for a few hours.
avatar
tinyE: Hmmm, it won't download for some reason. I thought it might be the downloader so a tried a different game and it worked fine.

Maybe Tyrian has thrown a virus into the system because it doesn't want me spending time with other space shooters.

Maybe I should get a life. :P
You can get a life later, play Tyrian 2000 first, it's awesome and does indeed have a great soundtrack.

NoNewTaleToTell: I'm pretty sure I still have to add the free games manually, heck, I still don't have Teenagent.
Huh, Teen Agent just appeared on my shelf one day and I had never even heard of it. Didn't even see an announcement for it.

I certainly don't remember adding Stargunner or Amazon Queen. Maybe I'm unconsciously and compulsively adding them because FREE?

There was a long time that I was unable to download the installers for the free games. I have no idea what the problem was, but for weeks the downloader would delete them or something. I must have tried to download Lure of the Temptress 10 times. Then one day weeks later it just worked. Turn off the downloader and it should work fine.

O_O I'm going to see that in my nightmares! XD

I just tried downloading it directly from the GOG website and everything seemed fine. :/
Maybe it's just a temporary problem with the GOG Downloader? >_<

Maybe old accounts still have to add new free games manually, but recently created ones get them automatically?

Speculation in the absence of complete data...

Nö,
but if you look at this: http://www.kaukapedia.com/images/Schnieff_und_Schnuff_02.jpg
you may see how my Avatar was named (its from reading too many Fix & Foxi comix)....and of course the quote
about toenails was from Lucky Luke.

I have a fairly new account and though the basic free games were already there in my digital shelf when I joined, I definitely had to add Stargunner and Flight of the Amazon Queen manually when they came out, they weren't automatically there. And, no, I didn't add them just because they are free, I actually like those games, particularly FotAQ (great point and click adventure, if anyone's interested, it's very funny and makes some cool nods to the Indiana Jones franchise), so I can say I distinctly remember adding them.
Judas has a Thief avatar and he's recommending The Guild. :O
Betrayer indeed!

Speaking of games that I would love to see here at GOG...

...I can hope anyway.

Neobr10: You always get a bunch of free games from GOG when you sign up. It's normal.
avatar
SpellSword: The games are automatically added to your account? O_O

I seem to remember having to add them manually, did something change or am I misremembering? >_<
I believe you have to "buy" them if your account existed when they were given away. Normally it's just things like the Fallout series that are given away temporarily where you have to actually buy them.

Considering his obsession with pink tutus his name is most likely Bernd. ;-)

I al ready bought The Guild, where's my official staff pick?

... I assume that'd be a pick with a staff as the handle, emblazoned with the GOG logo.
