So my Games shelf is full of games I never bought.
Why is this?

I only bought two games so far (FTL and SettlersII 10yr edition).
Yet, my shelf list a whole bunch of games. Many of them from Ultima Series.

Is this some promo thing?
Is there a way to hide them?

thx

Yes, just click on the game on the shelf, there's a "hide" button there.

And the extra games are probably the free ones you get registering:

You always get a bunch of free games from GOG when you sign up. It's normal.

it's not really a special promo. those are the free games that everyone gets when they sign up for gog. some of them are damn good games, like ultima iv and beneath a steel sky. but if there are any free games that you want to hide, just left-click on the game that you want to hide, then look for a "hide" box to check near the bottom right corner, then repeat the process for any other games that you want to hide. i hope this was helpful.

Indeed. Both of those are fantastic games. There are plenty more here to choose from that are just as good though.

The games are automatically added to your account? O_O

I seem to remember having to add them manually, did something change or am I misremembering? >_<

If you enjoy Tyrian I'd recommend you also take a look at Raptor: Call of the Shadows. ^_^

I have it. It's not bad but honestly I don't really even really dig the genre; Tyrian has just always struck a chord with me. That and it being free is why I mentioned it here.

Besides, I just saw his earlier post where he bought a Settlers game. XD He won't be doing ANYTHING ELSE for a LOOOOOONG TIME! :P

They didn't always used to be, but these days any new account created has them all added automatically. If GOG ever adds a new free game to the mix, presumably all the existing accounts will have to add it manually at that point.
