It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Will it run on rep.?
Will the client serve to track time played, and can it be turned off.?
If so, can game times be added manually for games completed before GOG Galaxy would be released?

I wouldn't mind having a game timer like on Steam but you know, better and optional.

Wishbone: Anybody else have questions about Galaxy they'd like GOG to answer?
What's this "...as well as the option to stay in touch with friends" and achievements stuff about? Do we get public profiles? "GOG-overlay" with integrated chat? And how will this work together with the website? Will it be updated as well, or do we constantly have to switch between GOG.com and the client? Like... writing something in the forums via browser, than switch to the client to look up something at the profile of one of your friends? This would be a bad solution, because it would create two different communities.

Short version: How will Galaxy change the website?
I'm shocked that not only did it not launch today but there's literally no date or thorough information on it. Seemed like we waited a long time for this announcement but then it was pretty empty. I want my GOG client now darn it!

Still, looking forward to hearing more.

Rep will now be taken from your in-game achievements. This links means that, when downrepped, your achievements will also go down and your saved games will continually lose stuff, making your characters weaker the less the community likes you. This is 100% waranteed to eliminate ALL trolls and scammers on the forums!

Lemon_Curry: Will it run on rep.?
Maybe. Have some just in case.

I have one.

"Huh?"
I'm also wondering if it will offer cloud-based save games. I don't always want my save games in the cloud, but there are certainly times (and specific games) where it would be my preference. Thoughts?

I'd imagine that your profile would have to be public for the achievement showcase, but completely optional.
And surely they will continue with these forums and there will be an in-built browser or a community tied to both the client and the forum, so it will be the same experience.

How will this work with non-bought GoG content? I buy GoG games, but I also give Mac versions of the setup programs to my dad so he can play too, and I've pirated a few GoG games that I wasn't sure of the purchase on. But, will people that pirate a game be able to play it online through Galaxy without issue, or will that be locked off? If you try and play a game that you don't own online through Galaxy, will it lock the game down?
where to downloade it?... i need it... i can't live without it!...why do i have to wait?... does it have more options than steam.? can i intigrate non-gog games too? like all my snes games?...

The client is optional. However, login into the client requires what? Probably a user authentication. Did that answer your question?

DRM-free != free to play / pirate
Thanks guys, for the help with the previous answers. :)

2nd question

If you download games through the GOG Galaxy Client, will it give you the option to just download the .exe files, so you can keep them for backup, or will it be like Steam, and install the game directly into your drive whether you prefer that or not?
