Hey everyone,

We just got the release of Rise of the Triad, the amazing remake of the Apogee Classic. We are getting a remake of Shadow Warrior in the near future. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8m7VZ7LFOtY)

Do you think we will see any other remakes in the near future? Personally, almost every Apogee game was great, from Blake Stone to Hocus Pocus.

But the one I really want to see remade is Biomenace. Keep it a side scroller, and the same levels, but make it HD and let us have better controller support.

I'd love to see a new 3D Blake Stone and Wacky Wheels game. Personally, I think Bio Menace has aged rather well, but I wouldn't mind that (and Major Stryker) getting a more colorful HD update.
I'm not enthused about the Shadow Warrior remake, i watched an interview with the devs where they said that they wanted to be 'PC' and so they took out Lo Wangs personality. To me that's like making a Duke Nukem game and taking Duke Nukems personality out.

Here's hoping if there's remakes of others they go the ROTT route and not the SW route.

Hmm if the PC was as stuck for Mario Kart style racers as it has been until recently I'd agree about Wacky Wheels but we've had Sonic All-Stars and F1 Stars recently both of which have a decent cast list as drivers
Heh maybe if Apogee did one with cars for Duke Nukem, Blake Stone etc. That might be cool!

Duke Nukem was a driver in the original Death Rally. I don't know if he is in the remake, though.

Hmm, I never tried those games. I had something like Mario Kart 64 in mind, but if a game like that already exists on PC, even better!

I also remembered that I hoped to see a 3D Major Stryker game in the vein of StarFox 64, and another Realms of Chaos game with elements like shops, armor, additional weapons, and so on.
I never had the chance to play Realms of Chaos, but I agree that it would be neat to see a new one of.

And yeah, BioMenace has aged really well indeed, but it still could use an HD treatment. And Blake Stone should be up right after that.
I was excited when I first saw the Shadow Warrior remake... then I saw that it was the Hard Reset DRM fanatic people... and what the other guy said they took out Lo Wang's personality.

Sad days.

You didn't like Hard Reset then...

I didn't dislike it. Just, I've noticed the Shadow Warrior people have expressed zero interest to add it to GOG. Hard Reset has been around for awhile, and it hasn't been around here, even though I feel like a good portion of the population here would be up for it.

It might, you never know. I will just buy it on steam. I'm not a fan of DRM Paranoia.
Just saw this article: http://kotaku.com/shadow-warrior-is-exactly-how-old-shooters-should-be-re-1136133059

Still looks as much of a gorefest as ever, but I don't have sound at the moment so I can't hear the quips or anything.

When I play the original Shadow Warrior, I enjoy the jokes, and Lo Wang's personality, but if it is still as fun as it looks like it will be, I'll still end up buying it.

That's more like it. Looks like a day 1 purchase for me. :)

The new Shadow Warrior game ought to be coming to GOG:

Yes, a new Blake Stone with shiny graphics. Please. That would be epic.
