I admit, monopoly is not high on my list of board games, or should I say bored games. But they have chosen a new piece for the game, and are sending the Iron out to pasture. Personally, I thought the thimble was the lamest piece, but I can understand that old 1930's iron being chosen. It just seems like we have a need to modernize everything.

Why can't they leave anything alone, there is no need to modernize it.

Oh well, at least I still have the old version in the attic.

If it's not the car or the boot, it doesn't count. The thimble is not bad.

Last I played was the "Here and Now" edition on my iPad. Quite fun but note that it changes everything, cities, prices, and pieces (windmill ftw)

They replaced it with a cat so I'm okay with that.
The only PC Monopoly I have is "Here and Now" so it's missing all the original pieces which makes this news pretty minor.

They put out so many tie-in versions of the game, they should really just leave the basic game alone for us purists.

Does this mean in a few years I can post my iron on ebay and get a windfall? :-)

Well, if you have a cat, ironing your clothes will be the least of your worries between saving them from being clawed to shreds and trying to remove cat hair from them.

Yay I like the idea of the cat piece, no one ever wanted to play the Iron, though it was fun to put the Scottish Terrier on and say the Dog's Surfing.
