drmlessgames: In that state, blood 2 would be joining the ranks of other games like Sacrifice and Interstate 76 that just do not run well on modern computers. The blood 2 forum area would be filled with threads of people complaining that they can't run blood 2 in hardware mode, or that it doesnt run at all, in their quad-core rigs with GTX 285 cards.

ZamFear: Are there any massive problems with the GOG version of Shogo? Because it uses the same engine.

Well, not the exact version of Lithtech, blood 2 is a slightly older, much more rough on the edges version than Shogo's. If blood 2 was released, it wouldnt be without its somewhat big share of technical problems thread list.

r10k: Hey ILiveAGAIN... are you the I Live from the Blood forum? If so, Reactor here ;) Nice you see you have a reason to live again.
If you're not I Live and don't know what the old Blood forum was like, ignore what I just said :P

Hi Reactor! Yes it's me :D

At any rate, source code exists.

Starkrun: lastly, if they do pull Blood 2 then they might as well get KISS Psycho Circus aswell!!! then RUNE to finish off that era of 3D games that changed the way we play!

I have KISS Psycho Circus on CD but have never been able to play it due to compatibility is any good? Also RUNE and Blood 2 are great, if gog gets rune though we will have to have some sort of multiplayer competition on it.

Ralackk: here i'll past the basic "MAKE ME WORK" instructions for the majority of Lithtech engine games.
Shogo Advanced options:
Enable Poly gap
Enable Triple Buffering
Blood/Kiss (modified as possible for KISS):
Go into the your Blood 2 folder and click on the file called autoexec.cfg it will be a notepad file go into it and type anywhere on the left handside "MaxFps" "30"
Now if you don't wana type it in everytime you play blood 2 also do the same to the defaults file in the folder
now click on blood 2 and you know that box comes up with different options click on Advanced and tick these options
Disable directX 6 commands
Enable optimized Surfaces
Enable poly gap fixing (slower)
Enable triple buffering
and tick Always specify these command-line parameters just to be on the safe side but don't type anything in the command-Line box
Now turn on blood 2 and bring up the console by pressing ' after about a maximum of 5 seconds or more the screen should flash turn the console off and the menu doesn't flicker and blood 2 will be absoutely fine you have to do this everytime when you launch blood 2 you don't have to do it when you go on the next level i mean turning on the console but it's only for 2 seconds

So far this has worked for me with an ATI card and my old Nvidia...

Lazy2Log: Would it be really that difficult?
Does not Might and Magic IX use the same engine and run on Windows XP?

Well, an unmodded version of MMIX doesn't exactly run in a remotely stable fashion on anything, period...although that might admittedly just be the unfinished state of the game rather than the engine itself.
As for Blood 1 being on its way for a Thursday release, I'm really happy about that. First Outcast for 5,99 and now Blood. GOG's on a roll!

Yea, me too. I'll be really excited when blood gets released. It'll be packaged like Redneck Rampage and Duke3d, with dosbox to launch, I assume. And, hmm, I'm not that acquainted with all the releases that followed Blood. This release will include everything that was released for the first game?

Yes, but does GoG mess around with the source code of the games they release? I think they only run the binaries, and edit some config files. Maybe they remove the DRM with a hex editor or something like that, but i dont think they actually recompile anything from source code.

GOG has plainly stated in the past that if the source is available and they need to modify it to make a game work, they will. Whether or not they have actually had to do that yet, no one except the GOG guys really know.

ive seen there custom code inside of a few .exe files. they posted it once before on the forum. as for pure game code, sanitarium somehow was editied to work... Its beyond how GOG got it working so good.

Thanks dude, I'll give it a go, wanted to play these games for ages now. Now one more question about blood 2. Those stupid slug type things in the sewer I remember that if they latched onto me I was dead and was unable to remove them. Was there a trick to getting them off you or if they touch you your dead?

I think you were supposed to be able to pull them off by rapidly hammering your use key. As I recall, it was rather difficult to actually do though.

Ahh I remember there being a grab key which of course I only ever hit once or twice trying to remove these things and deciding it was broken or not for this purpose. I'll have to try hammer away at it like its a shitty qte. Thanks.
they were called Bone Leeches and they implanted an organism in your stomach to transform the host into a Soul Drudge.
As for getting them off i cant remember...

Just tried it out.
The key you want is "open." Same as opening doors and pushing buttons. "Grab" only seems to be for rearranging the furniture -- you can use it to pull trashcans and stuff around. Not useful.
And the problem isn't that they're so hard to get off, it's just that they land at your feet, so there's a chance they'll immediately jump on you again >:(
