OH MY GOD I JUST HAD A JOYGASM! I grew up playing Blood but never played the expansions. I remember having my folks input the "Adult" code to get the violence and nudity. Oh man I cannot wait.
My poor 166 P1 could barely run the blood 2 demo, so I never really got into it. Was it that bad?
Blood 2 had a lot of potential, but Monolith rushed the production and left a lot of the flaws unpatched.
Multiplayer is another story that could of used a little more tweaking.
As soon as that title launches im buying, no questions.... and Blood 2 was fantastic, you just need the Nightmare Levels to complete the journey...
I cannot even contain myself.... one Whole Unit... OMG.... so geeked beyond all geekdom... im going to faint....
Oh since they got Shogo to run flawlessly Blood 2 will be no issue for them, used to take a little INI editing, and some tweaking in the advanced options eg: poly-gap, direct x 6, TB... also some timed console calls at boot... but i don't care the game was worth the trouble to get it working! Most ATI cards can run it fine...
lastly, if they do pull Blood 2 then they might as well get KISS Psycho Circus aswell!!! then RUNE to finish off that era of 3D games that changed the way we play!

I have KISS Psycho Circus on CD but have never been able to play it due to compatibility is any good? Also RUNE and Blood 2 are great, if gog gets rune though we will have to have some sort of multiplayer competition on it.

IMO KISS and Blood 2 are kind of similar and not just because of the LithTech engine. They're both "good" but not as good as they could have been. Still, I'd like to see them here. What I seriously loved about both of them was their totally AMAZING interactive music. KISS, Blood and Blood 2 soundtracks are simply doing it for me. Nothing gets close to those.
I enjoyed Kiss:PC. The weapons were great but just weren't enough of them. It would be another welcome edition to GoG IMO
I'd still buy Blood 2 if it arrives here. I know most players prefer the original, but I only got to play a very tiny bit of the sequel, and I've always wanted the chance to play it for real.
I've never played Blood before, but I've heard it was a good game on these forums long before yesterday's announcement.
I'm a big fan of shooters, and I really enjoyed Duke3D, so I think I'll like this one. And I liked FEAR,so yeah.
Hey ILiveAGAIN... are you the I Live from the Blood forum? If so, Reactor here ;) Nice you see you have a reason to live again.
If you're not I Live and don't know what the old Blood forum was like, ignore what I just said :P

drmlessgames: Awesome that youre bringing Blood finally on the catalog. But, just, no matter what, do not release Blood 2. :D

Dave3d: Why not?
I have been trying to play it on my xp system, and it really sux having to play it in software mode.
If they can somehow get it to play on modern video cards NOT in software mode (without having to basically cripple the video card to do it), then I will certain buy it.
It is a pretty good game as an fps, but by no means as good a Blood 1 (the Blood humor just wasnt there).

Well, on the technical side, the changes needed to allow blood 2 to run on modern computers without software mode like you say would require major rewriting of the rendering backend, and that would need source code modifications. I don't know if GoG does code modifications, or if they have the source code of the games they add to their catalogs at all. I think they only work with the binaries, and run some compatibility tests and edit a few config files, but that's it. In that state, blood 2 would be joining the ranks of other games like Sacrifice and Interstate 76 that just do not run well on modern computers. The blood 2 forum area would be filled with threads of people complaining that they can't run blood 2 in hardware mode, or that it doesnt run at all, in their quad-core rigs with GTX 285 cards.
Would it be really that difficult?
Does not Might and Magic IX use the same engine and run on Windows XP?

Are there any massive problems with the GOG version of Shogo? Because it uses the same engine.

Massive? No. Annoying? Yes. The game itself runs perfectly fine, graphically speaking, but the sound does have this annoying popping thing that can only be resolved by turning down the sound hardware acceleration.
