evilguy12: The characters are look horrible but everything else in game is pretty good. Surprised they didn't make any diagonal walk cycles or even attempt lip syncing though.

This isn't a remake its an update the game is EXACTLY how it was but with the original concept/some new art and increased resolution theres a reason you can hit f1 to get the original back with no interruption

PaakType: I don't know how it works on the PC version, but classic mode is definitely in. For the PS3 version, you just push Select to switch between the two. (It even lets you use the voices in classic mode this time around.)

No, no, he meant the iMuse. And no, it's not "something for Apple". Wiki it.

Aliasalpha: I just checked, it IS on the PSN and DAMN am I glad to get it on 360 instead! $10 vs $16. Not that Monkey 2 isn't WORTh 16 bucks but a 60% price hike is just moronic

stonebro: It's $16? Must be aussies getting screwed again, I just checked my store and even though the price is converted to local currency there, it checks out as $9.99.

There's a shock. Well it DOES cost more money to route the bits through the intercontinental submarine cables, granted its like 0.00000000000001c per byte but I'm sure the price hike is entirely justified...
So is the PC version currently only available from Steam?

Weclock: I don't like Monkey Island. XD

Titanium: THEN YOU MUST DIE A DEATH SO HORRIBLE AND PAINFUL THAT...
Eh, fair enough.
I don't think it's funny at all.
weclock is a buffoon.
Monkey Island kicks ass

DarrkPhoenix: So is the PC version currently only available from Steam?

Well, yes it is. And I don't like the fact it's hardlinked with the STEAM api right now (for the achievements, duh!), so the chances the game actually gets released as standalone (or along the telltale games for that matter) have become slimmer :(

stonebro: Anybody know if this will hit PSN? Or will it take a year again?

I saw it on the PSN store, but I don't know if the first one is free with it. Whatever.
Excellent, i completely forgot about this game being released.
Big thumbs up for the option to leave on the enhanced speech and audio when you switch back to the old graphics. Does anyone know if this has been implemented into the first game ?
I only hope that Lucasarts don't start remaking every single game in their back catalogue, or even worse other developers start doing the same and remaking everything like whats going on in the movies.
Maniac Mansion, Indy 3, Zak Mckracken and a full version of Loom (as the CD version was stripped) are probably the only ones that really need updating.

Can anyone who has the 360 version explain to me how to activate audio commentary? I keep hitting right bumper, but nothing happens.
Ok, so I picked this one up and here are my thoughts. Monkey 2 is one of my favorite all time games. I've finished the first chapter and my thoughts so far are pretty favorable. Voice acting is generally pretty good. I didn't like Elayne or the men of low moral fiber's voices but even they aren't too bad. The new art is kind of a mixed bag. I would have been much more interested in a high resolution remake of the original art but maybe that's just me. The commentary is definitely the best part and any Monkey Island fans would be well served to pick this one up just for that. The music is great as well. I love the "real instrument" versions of the background songs.
Oh, and the achievements are lame. Finishing the first chapter is not an achievement.

Not as of yet.
And one Loom SE please.

Wishbone: Bought the first one from TellTale when it hit their store. Will do the same for this one.

lackoo1111: Will do the same

Ditto. I bought he first one on XBLA and then from Telltale when they began selling it.

Its only an option at selected areas, and you get an indicator in the top left corner. The main street (for want of a better word) of Woodtick is one place where you defintiely get it, there's also an option in the menu to turn dev commentary off so have a look for that just in case you turned it on. The commentary is probably best left till a second playthrough though since it overrides dialogue in the same way as a DVD commentary does
And one Loom SE please.

That would be my first choice.
Would also like to see some more of the classics re-released like DOTT and Grim Fandango, no SE's though, they're perfect the way they are. Although the long gap since the last batch of re-releases suggests SE's may be in the works.
MI2SE is now on D2D for those of you who don't like steam.
