I could write multiple pages of what I think about this but I think another person on youtube already summed up my thoughts very well regarding this

"According to MW3 Blackout organizers, Modern Warfare 3 is an incomplete game and developers are making no efforts to fix the issues and bugs."

Oh boy. The must have forgotten that the software they buy a license for they get it AS IT IS. Be happy that companies aren't charging for patches.

Well EA does for their FIFA series ;-P

I actually know of some software, which has a relatively cheap license but very expensive customer support. But then you get a "call anytime" customer support where you don't get redirected to india ...
Took me 2 seconds to close that video again

Lol @ the Blackout though.

What exactly is a day where less people log in (but probably plenty who don't even know of it or don't care to keep the games going), going to do to the developers? You already bought the game ... It's not like they need anything more from you.

I can see their plight though, it's a pain when very little patching is done after a game, especially when there are issues that really should be addressed.

I blame BioWare and how they caved to those who complained about Mass Effect 3's ending. Regardless of whether BioWare's decision was correct, it set a rather nasty precedent for other compaines - or, at least, given people the false impression that other companies are as willing as BioWare to change parts of an already-released product on-demand.

And the less you play, the better they're off. Less bandwidth and server resources for them to waste on your connection.
Companies refusing to patch their buggy games after release isn't anything new. It's one of the things that's helped gamers separate shitty devs/pubs from good ones over the years.

Organized protests about lack of patches, though? That's new, it's normally just unfocused annoyance. We'll see how it turns out.
But then they're just gonna go back to playing it the very next day. What's the point?

He has quite the profound vocabulary.

I think that's the ultimate issue.

After the controversy surrounding the PC release of MW2, you'd have to be blind to not see where this was going. Did people really expect to buy MW3 believing that it would be a right and proper PC port in the ways that MW2 wasn't?

As someone remarked on the story that the OP linked to, the best way for anyone to truly have protested Activision's policies on MW3 was to not buy the game in the first place!
LOL

Because the last COD boycott worked so well?

It's all over the internet. I just did an image search for MW2 boycott (note that it suggests that the next word you're looking for is "fail").
