Usually a company notices a bad reception of a game in the lackluster sale of DLCs. Prime example would be DA 2. While the game itself still sold rather well, iirc, nobody went for the DLCs (and at least the first one was really good, never played the second one).

So in the COD situation, not buying any overpriced map packs should get some attention.
Irritating as hell, but I like his analogy.

It just shows how millions of COD players like to be raped with a crowbar at least once a year and cry like little girls afterwards, but keep coming for more.

I reckon it's a bit late for that. By removing the possibility to mod the game Actiblizz have starved the players of content to such an extent that they'll ravenously consume all the overpriced map packs they put out there (rather than you know, move onto a different game).

Don't forget about Call of Duty Elite! By paying 49.99USD (if I recall correctly, that's per year), you'll get all the 'pro' features you need to p0wn the competition, get double XP if you're in a clan, get all the latest Elite features, get complementary DLC every month (which becomes tied to your PSN/XBOX Live account, meaning you keep it even if you end your premium subscription), and more!

In other words, Activision-Blizzard is well aware of this, and, through the unanticipated success of the Elite service, has managed to capitalize on it very well.

What astonishes me is that there are some who've been demanding that this come to the PC as well.

I'm just amazed it works. Usually with me with something is painfully obviously just about the money with no love for the product, I just don't want to know. That's why I like a lot of these Kickstarter projects that are born out of love and the hope that other people might share their passion. So much of the industry is pretty damn soulless and it shows in the products.

It doesn't surprise me in the least. Simply put, Elite gives players stuff which is lacking in the recent Call of Duty titles (which, pre-Elite, was probably left out due to time constraints). Since this lack of stuff also applies to the PC, it's only natural that these players should demand the same access to Elite as console players. Should Activision-Blizzard deem the demand to truly be there, I'm sure they'll find a way to give PC players what they want - or didn't realize they want.

I could write multiple pages of what I think about this but I think another person on youtube already summed up my thoughts very well regarding this

Is there an MW3 blackout group on Steam? That'll be a good laugh.

Nor do I. Okay, GOGers, does anyone who is not a complete tosser* own this game?

*someone who is taking this blackout thing seriously
hm, perhaps it's time to unwrap my copy of MW3 and try it out. Perhaps there would be a distinct lack of idiots playing?

Wishful thinking?
I already blackout MW3 every single day.
